Tuckahoe 3 Peat

Is this just swimming or is this swimming and diving? I don't know how it works but I know a few kids through my kids that dive in the summer. Just curious. Thanks.

Diving is a totally different animal.

Donaldson Run is a stronger team than Oakton and has good potential. If they drop to 2 they'll be back after a year. Good balance in d1 this year. OKM and Highlands had some amazing swims.

Its tough for a team like DR to be In division 1, the Hoa limits them to only have swimmers within the community boundary. However they have a lot of kids just need some good coaching to develop those young kids..

Coaching at DR is fine, Coach Phil is terrific

It’s jack@SS parents who care about themselves more than kids has led to a lot of athletic kids leaving swim and many on this year’s team not really caring anymore

Parents want to drop to D3 so their kids can hoist a trophy they can post on instagram, it’s gross behavior

Agree to disagree. P has grown increasingly grouchy and unreliable. It is not the parents who care too much about winning - it’s him. So much anger that he can’t beat T and CB and that other younger coaches are succeeding

Highlands new head coach is absolutely fantastic

Is a summer league coach making any difference in whether the team wins or loses? Minimally. The D1-D6 teams with the best and most club swimmers are winning the most meets. Those teams with solid winter swim programs AND fast club swimmers are doing even better. A summer coach needs to care and help all swimmers progress, but it is much more important for summer coaches to be kind, to model positive behavior and dispositions, and to invest in all the kids, especially those who receive no to minimal coaching throughout the year. These powerhouse teams are not winning with a bunch of summer-only kids who have a tremendous summer coach. That’s why the winning part is almost irrelevant to a summer coach evaluation, beyond maybe evaluating how the coach seeds each meet and makes the children feel cared for and excited to swim.

This is hilarious. The tone all season at DR has been about having fun and achieving personal best times. The coaches, kids, and parents here at DR are fantastic. Stop throwing shade.

Stop with the false narrative. We’re a Tuckahoe family and this is simply untrue. Most of the kids have been on the team since little tigers.

Every once in a while families get off the waitlist and are able to swim for the club, but there’s a process for the waitlist.

People so jelly because kids from division 20 want to swim for back-back-back D1 champs.

Maybe fast swimmers want to have fun and be pushed by other fast swimmers…
