Wow, I can’t imagine choosing to be separated from my kids right now, knowing there is a high likelihood of being at least delayed from returning on schedule. Or worse. Can’t imagine what is going through your head, unless being with your kids is not really a priority for you. |
I have been in the past and wouldn’t go now.
For a wiiiiide variety of reasons. So yeah, I would question anyone going now. But you can’t stop them. |
I wouldn’t go but there every regime has its supporters so Netanyahu/the IDF have lots of supporters who don’t care if he obliterates Palestine and kills tens of thousand of innocent civilians just like Hamas has supporters who don’t care if they kill a thousand innocent civilians. |
Sounds like they are taking their kids with them |
Wow, hard no. I have been to Israel before for an academic conference trip and it was one of the most interesting places I've visited, but I sure as heck would not feel comfortable traveling there right now. |
I hope the few morons on here saying how travel to Israel is fine right now haven't spammed other threads with how dangerous it is to travel to Paris, Venice, LA, DC or wherever. If you're going to be a rah-rah risk-taker, then at least don't be hypocrites.
Although in all honesty, I'm quite sure you wouldn't take that risk for yourselves. Maybe it's just OK for others to take risks, because you're sitting at your keyboard right now and always reflexively defend Israel on the internet? Maybe Antifa in riot-ridden LA is more dangerous, hmm? |
You again? Maybe you need therapy. |
Nice way to say "I'm a lunatic". |
The realistic threat from Islamic terror there is quite low, so travel there shouldn't be a problem. Likely more risk from accidents, as with travel anywhere generally. |
Wow, I can’t imagine spewing my inner bile on someone on the internet to make up for my own parental shame and guilt…yikes. Our kids attend a day camp across the street from where I will be remote working. We do this every year. Or are you the type that thinks women shouldn’t work at all? Probably not much running through your head (or heart) at all. |
No, I wouldn't go and I'm not a risk averse traveler and I have enjoyed Israel in the past. Chances are good they can make it in and out alive, that's not my worry, but what the heck do they think theyre going to do there right now? As friend who was supposed to go next week just canceled but originally was like, "the bomb shelters are solid." Cool, true. You want to spend your week long vacation in a bomb shelter? It's ill advised on many levels Im not going to gey into but even at the most basic and selfish just seems dumb and not fun. |
There's no reason to anticipate any time in bomb shelters in any particular place, given that hostile forces capable of launching attacks have at this point been pretty much fully neutralized. Is the risk zero? No. Is the risk more than the risk of getting sick or of being in an accident? No. Reliable media reporting shows Israelis relaxing on the beaches and going about their daily routines uninterrupted. To all appearances, life is going on there as normal. |
