Dual citizen here -I want to leave this country

You are a parent, OP. The child’s welfare is the highest consideration. In this situation, it is in her best interest to have both parents. In addition, the father has the same parental rights as you do. So you either convince your partner to go, you go alone or you stay. You don’t get to take the child and go. That would be selfish and probably illegal if your child’s other parent opposes it.

You are lucky to have the option.

Then go!

In America, we succeed despite the government, not because of it.

I’m so extremely depressed because the USA is at an all time low. I don’t want to raise my daughter here if I have another option. Any advice? A judge would deny this I’m sure. Anyone gone through a similar situation?

This is why the world is in the state that it is. People don’t like where their country is headed so they leave. Then they don’t want to assimilate in the new country. So naturally tensions develop between immigrants and the native population.

It is simple, if you perceive a problem, stay home and fix it.

All the scientists fleeing to other countries are likely to encounter considerable resentment from native graduates who expected to fill those research positions.

Academics are quite open-minded. Also, wouldn't that same situation occur here in the US since there's so many foreign PhDs here?

Honestly, my advice is to seek mental help.

I can actually relate to your feelings in that I am stuck in a region of the U.S. that I don't like because my husband refuses to move and would never agree to me moving with the kids even if we divorced. I spent a few years feeling very resentful and regretful that I agreed to move here in the first place. Over time, I made peace with my circumstances. There are certainly worse places to live and I know I see my home state through rose colored glasses at times.

Seriously, log off of social media and go touch grass. Fantasizing about kidnapping your child to get them out of the U.S. is irrational.

Yes, the defeat of the Axis was a thing we did as a group of like-minded individuals who all happened to suit up and show up in the same places and mysteriously have logistical support enabling success.

Interstate highway system: also notoriously the result of non-governmental actors getting the job done.

Great point. A+ history.

With all the mass shootings in this country it’s a gamble living here.

If we hadn't let in so many illegals then we wouldn't be in this situation.

Want to avoid dealing with the DMV? There are private tag and title services.

Tax forms too complicated? Turbotax is there for you.

Airport security too annoying? Pay for Clear.

Mail service too unreliable? Send with UPS or FedEx.

Whenever the government fails to provide a service, or it's too difficult to use, private industry comes up with some way to ease the pain.

It shouldn't have to be this way -- government should provide a good service -- but often they don't.

Interstates now cost $5-10 million per mile to even add a lane:

And we're seeing privately-run toll roads, like Dulles Greenway and 495 Express Lanes (Transamerica Corp) as a way to deal with government's inability to provide decent roads any more.

How many years behind schedule was the Silver Line? How many years behind is the Purple Line?

Government services aren’t always better in other countries though.

We should have focused on high speed rail instead of so many highways.

Aren't they usually the work of white guys?

In certain other countries, it’s more likely that OP’s daughter may get raped while walking home from school.
