Jamie Dimon - CEO of JPMorgan Chase - is an idiot and out of touch

Anonymous
I use PNC bank. A few around me have shutdown, and the one I now go to has 2 people working in it. The teller windows are usually closed. If someone needs a teller, one of the workers will open a window. I went into the bank recently to close down a business account, and open accounts for my teen DC. The worker was telling us how awful it was that so many of their branches are closing because of automation.

FWIW, I used to work as a teller in the early 90s in a bank. It's ridiculous for a CEO of a bank to think that bank teller jobs are secure.

Even JP Morgan bank has reduced teller staff. The little that they have are paid barely enough to live on for a family. Ridiculous for a billionaire CEO to tell young people to get a job as a teller. Seems self serving.

Digital banking adoption has decreased teller demand by 51,000 positions, with mobile check deposits and AI-powered financial assistants handling routine transactions. JPMorgan Chase reports a 35% reduction in branch transactions since 2020.

This shift in consumer behavior has accelerated workforce reductions as banks consolidate branches and invest in digital infrastructure rather than maintaining large teams of in-person tellers. Ironically, while teller positions disappear, opportunities in high-interest online banking are expanding, offering consumers better returns on their savings.
