No, you posting a left wing twitter troll who is paid by democratic pacs to post photoshopped pictures is funny. |
My MIL has early onset dementia. She's not even 60. Got approved for disability because she can't work. Literally can't function. she also has extreme paranoia as part of her dementia process and it showed up before she got diagnosed. Her boss was willing to keep her getting paid if she just showed up but she refused to show up because she said her coworkers were planning against her. That they conspired against her. This is when she started getting evaluated because her boss said she hadn't really been able to do her job for awhile. Making lots of mistakes but they kept trying to work with her. This is also a woman who had an abusive childhood, starved for the first 2 years of her life, was in a nunnery and then got fostered by a family who used her as a domestic servant. 100 her childhood is affecting her mental status as she goes down the dementia path. You don't want her driving. You don't want her collecting a paycheck for work she isn't doing (state worker). So she sits all day in a house she paid for while working for decades and gets x dollars a month to barely survive. I can only hope that scientists in another part of the world where they'll be supported will actually be able to help diagnose and treat dementia like this so other people don't have to live like this. or that they'll come up with diagnostic criteria/tests that will allow them to be treated prior to spiraling into full-blown dementia. I do feel for people who have physical disabilities because the world is not built for people with physical disabilities but people whose brains don't work from either dementia or mental health issues can't function in a job. Disability shouldn't be given freely but it also is necessary |
OPERATION PURPLE® CAMP Operation Purple Camp Summer 2025 Operation Purple Camp is designed to build community, connection, and resilience. At NMFA, we believe that Military Kids Serve Too®, which is why, since 2004, we have been celebrating that service by providing FREE weeklong summer camp experiences across the country. Exclusively for military-connected children, NMFA enhances the traditional camp experience with a curriculum that focuses on intentional skill-building and connection to other kids with military life experiences. Campers and families are also connected to additional resources–such as support from mental health professionals–to improve their well-being while at camp and provide a framework for ongoing support long after the camp experience has ended. Military kids leave camp with pride in their own contributions, meaningful connections with a community of peers, and skills to tackle the challenges of military family life. https://www.militaryfamily.org/state-of-the-military-family-programs/operation-purple/operation-purple-camp/ My kids went to this camp and had a great time. You think this camp is not necessary? |
The rise in Americans who are on disability is a result of the 2 year restriction on TANF welfare that most states follow in some form allowing an exemption for those with disabilities and/or the disability income replaces the TANF income because they no longer qualify for TANF. DC allows 5 years but there is an exception for disability. Being on disability then is a gateway so to speak to other benefits like SNAP, reduced lunch, free or reduced utility payments, section 8 or other rent reduction programs, etc Also, you might have a household with adults on disability and their children are also on disability. It's true no one is getting rich but due to the other benefit programs they qualify for, many of their basic living expenses are covered so the disability income is their discretionary income. |
Not everyone has a fully functional brain that enables them to work OP.
In my experience, most of the able bodied and brained people who don't work and get disability are white Trump voters. |
People are way too fat and take too many drugs. |
Diabetes |
That wasn’t me who posted it, but good job jumping to conclusions. What’s even funnier is how you can’t debunk the message of the photo, so you have to try to discredit it as a “troll”. |
The food chemicals are changing our brain chemistry |
You are posting photoshopped images and want to be taken seriously. Cmon. |
Did I say "all of these conditions are due to Doritos and Coke? No, but it contributes to diabetes, hypertension and obesity. Can you not admit that? |
It is all so ironic given the Kennedy familiy's relationship to one class of disabled. |
Care to quantify this with a reliable link as opposed to the one off anecdotal story? |
Washington, DC, receives more money than they send to the fed gov. The largest per-person gap was in Washington, DC, where federal obligations outnumbered contributions by $19,748 per resident. https://usafacts.org/articles/which-states-contribute-the-most-and-least-to-federal-revenue/ |
DP. What part of “that wasn’t me who posted it” are you having trouble understanding? Of course it’s photoshopped. It’s called a meme. Next you’ll be complaining that political cartoons are drawn by cartoonists. Come back when you’ve acquired basic reading comprehension skills. |
