FIFY

Tell me you never served your country without telling me you never served your country.

You’re welcome BTW.

Thank you for saving us from the Vietnamese, Panamanians or Iraqis depending on when you served.

You might get your wish. Netanyahu is in a bad position politically and what better way to get out of it than to start another war with America's backing

I applaud anyone signing up to serve our country. AND, this my be a factor.

“.. Unemployment is trending higher and will gather pace in Q3. .. we expect the unemployment rate to rise to a peak of 4.8% by December, jolting the FOMC into easing materially from September onwards.”

I'll say this about Trump. He's not a warmonger. Knowing how unpopular another war in the Middle East would be after twenty years in Iraq and Afghanistan, I think there is zero chance Trump is going to do something stupid like Bush did and invade countries for dumb reasons. Frankly, I think the Hillary Clinton wing of the Democratic Party is far more dangerous. Plus, the advent of drone warfare has changed everything. Any major conflict going forward is going to be catastrophic. I would rather have Trump as CIC than a Democrat who wants to prove she's tough and all that BS.

Doubt this is a factor, unemployment is still historically very low at 4.2 percent.

Sure.

Suddenly people are joining the Army because they hate Trump.

There are no jobs. They have no options

That’s simply not true.

Seems Americans are happy that the focus is once again on the warrior ethos and not on DEI.

Getting tired of the “warrior ethos” BS. These service members aren’t gladiators.

What exactly do you think service member are?

“This achievement represents a significant turning point for the Army and indicates a renewed sense of patriotism and purpose among America’s youth,” the Army said in a release.

The goal was 10% higher than the 55,000 recruits the Army sought last year. Average contracts per day exceeded last year’s levels by as much as 56% during the same period, according to the release.

Gee. Wonder why people are joining the Army again, suddenly?

More Americans can't wait to fight for Israel apparently.

More Americans who are assured that Biden won’t send them to fight for Ukraine, more likely.

We sent U.S. fighters to Ukraine?

“ However, in 2024, the Army exceeded its goal by 11,000 recruits, who were placed in the service’s delayed entry program for this fiscal year.”

10% increase. Whoopie doo.

A lot of kids from my son's graduating class who joined immediately out of high school seemed to be socioeconomically disadvantaged. I am wondering if the economic situation may have made other options that these kids often choose, such as an associate's degree at a community college, less viable.

Joe Biden was amazing. Is there anything he couldn’t do?

The whole student loan situation is up in the air. Kids are smart for finding a free way to get career training. Just don’t be dumb and sign up for the infantry. The only post military jobs for them are prison guard and ICE.

It has been a fact in the past that recruit levels go up when the economy teeters.

Higher than Biden's last 3 years. Thankfully Biden fixed Trump's mess but now unemployment's going back up.

It’s double that for people of enlisting age. And higher than it was last year at this time.
