Sofa bed for kids?

Exactly. The problem is not the double it's the sofa bed.

+1.

Seriously, how did you all travel growing up?! I think we had three kids on sofa bed for some trips. One bathroom.

In the 80s and 90s there were MANY more hotel rooms that offered 2 queen beds as an option. Now it's often 2 double beds, which are not fit for 2 grown adults. I grew up in a family of 5 and we would get 2 queens and a cot. Hotels don't allow that now as they want to force you into a second room.

For young kids, I'd have them share the pull out. But as they get older I'd be more inclined to get 2 rooms.

You can fit two adults on a double or have a kid share with a parent.

Have you seen the size of Americans these days? 2 on a double

We are not big people! DH is the largest at 160 lbs. We can definitely share a double without a problem.

I (5'4 female) shared a college dorm-room twin with my average size boyfriend for 2 years. GTFO with the "two adults cannot share a double" nonsense

It specifically states that the room will sleep 4, so I assume the pullout would be big enough for 2. It also states that cots are not available.

We stayed in a hotel in Italy that had a king bed with a sleeper sofa at the foot of the bed. It was a large sleeper sofa and we easily slept 4 comfortably.

Another hotel in Italy had the equivalent of a chair and a half sleeper that worked well for our 12 year old.

Look for American chains and scour the pictures and reviews.

I would pay more for two non adjoining rooms.
