Ugh, Trader Joe’s does it again

I miss the apricot sauce, and it's been gone for decades

Every time I go, I check the freezer section for the vegetable melange in seasoned butter sauce that they stopped selling several years ago.

Trader Joe's has really good vinegar and I miss several of their discontinued vinegars.

Years ago, they used to carry a dried fruit snack that had extra fiber added to it -- it was like 5g per strip or something. It was a godsend for my DC who would get constipated from milk products but loved cheese.

Try Sherry vinegar--it used to be hard to find but even my Kroger-owned grocery store carries it now.

There are alternative to this that are equally as good but $$$. I was sad to see it go too.

Oh yeah I loved that muscat vinegar. Have not found anything similar. I also liked the white balsamic but managed to find a replacement at a nice grocery store. I particularly like the white balsamic for pasta salad — it doesn’t stain the pasta.

They used to have a pretty healthy carrot juice that my kids would actually drink but discontinued that. I think it was carrot pineapple or something.

Some things do come back. The meatless sausage patties were gone for like a year and then suddenly came back, in a bag instead of a box. My meat obsessed son really likes them and will microwave them himself for breakfast.

Many many years ago they used to have a fabulous strawberry cream cheese with real strawberries that my daughter loved—she gave up bagels when they discontinued it. (I tried mixing in strawberries and jam into regular cream cheese but she said that was gross as the acid made the cheese curdle.)

They also used to have a biryani rice that was really good. I would add extra veggie and make it dinner. Very quick and kids ate it.

For all the people missing balsamic vinegars from TJs, spend a little more and get better quality at OlioToGo in Fairfax. They have samples of everything and amazing quality items. I'm addicted to the stuff and often just have balsamic by the spoonful.

I miss the frozen flat pizza crust. It was really good and made making pizza easy. Nobody else sells this product that I can find. The self stable version (that other supermarkets sell) is terrible by comparison.
