They're sending both U13/14 teams to California for playoffs 🤷♂️ |
Yeah maybe? SYC GA… |
Looks like the 08s (9th place) , 09s (11th place) and 10s (9th place) are going too? Do you have to qualify for playoffs? |
They'll be there, maybe not in the playoffs but they'll be there for the showcase. |
| Our season has been great. Now one of only a handful of non-ecnl/ga teams ranked in the top 100. V proud. |
| Fathers bad behavior getting their kids kicked off team has been a revelation |

My hot take:
I like a lot of the parents on our sideline, but I hate listening to them during games. My middle kid is in their last year of 9v9 and some who attend practices, games, and who follow the professional game all somehow seem to have no idea how the game is played. They get angry with our coach when our goalie doesn’t punt. They sigh or complain every single time a ball is reset. It is like they don’t understand the game is 360° and space and opportunity are not always along a straight path to the goal. They get exasperated at children for struggling under pressure and fail to see how great that is for the players’ development. |
DS started mid-season, and I absolutely paid. DS started, but that's because he works hard. And is better than the fall defensive starters. |
I hear ya. The struggle is real. |
Wow. I've seen all sorts of terrible parent behavior but never heard of anyone actually having consequences. Must have been over the top. |
| Worst team ever in my opinion. My son was brought up from the 2nd team because he was supposed to be leveling up. He ended up being a benchwarmer the whole season and wasn’t allowed to go back to second team to play because they filled his spot. First team is competitive and in my opinion kids are very mean to my son and other smaller players. Coach is starting his own club, practices will be 1.5 hours away, and he’s taking the whole team with him and my son doesn’t want to go but doesn’t want to stay with all new kids either so we have to go. Environment is cultish in my opinion and kids are pushed too hard, tons of injuries and 3-4 hour practices daily for 11 year old boys. You don’t attend daily practice, you don’t play. My son has had to give up all activities for this and it’s been a tough year. How we are facing all new uniforms, fees, tournaments and more I don’t know. Plus he starts middle school in the fall and it will be stressful. Too much. |
This almost sounds like trolling but if it is not, why would you keep your child in that environment? And travel 1.5h to expose them to that? |
Was thinking the same, but if true...sounds like the parent needs to be the parent. |

The bottom 5 on top teams in top leagues can be swapped with the top 5 on second teams with no impact to the teams performance or record.
The bottom of the team is generally grand fathered in or placed for political - social reasons. |
This is completely insane. Find another team. |
