It’s only going to get worse btw. IRS is supposed to be eliminating thousands more people via RIFs. And they’ve already had a lot leave via DRP.

That’s what happens when you starve an agency of budget, fire 20 pct of staff and demoralize the rest of them.

And soon we will have an economic crisis because the bond markets have finally come around to realize that our national debt is unsustainable and less revenue is coming in the future.

People have warned about amassing too much debt for years but the bond markets have tolerated it because US has always been a safe bet.

The bond markets also finally pricing in that this administration is insane and purposely driving us off a cliff. And Rs in Congress to weak or chicksh*t to fulfill their constitutional responsibilities.

I don't think it was Bannon. Word is Musk was persona non grata by a lot of agency heads because of doge over reach. Apparently lots of f bombs were used in conjunction with Musk's name.

He did the damage he needed to to protect and expand his businesses and the rest of DOGE did an effective job at dismantling US soft power abroad and many domestic institutions.

It will take years/decades to undo the damage, and the economic side of it has not had its reckoning yet.

He was wildly unpopular with pretty much everyone outside of hardcore MAGA. Not the federal cuts, but just his personality and his way of living with all of the kids is jarring to most people. It also seemed like he annoyed the rest of the cabinet.
