Difficult wordle

The streak continues at 246, almost up to my longest of 251.

My starting word is STARE. When that has no matches, my next guess is LINGO. Therefore, it was easy for me to get today's word on the 3rd guess.

I do RAISE and then POUTY if enough vowels didn’t hit. I used to do PIOUS and READY but the S is never the last letter.

I like Octordle way better than Wordle.

I play fast and loose- whatever 5 letter word I heard or read last. And I try to play kind of quickly- not trying to get it in fewer guesses. I have started playing Letterboxed and that’s fun.

They're dealing with a relatively small universe of words; I believe from the pool of scrabble-eligible words with some removals for crassness and slim usage. There was also some effort by the original game designer to weed out words that would fall into the trap of puzzle # 1721, i..e, several first box letters could make an eligible word with the remaining boxes being correct.
