Not st Joe’s it’s maga

Then they likely won't have their federal funding cut...am I doing this rite?

I seriously doubt St Joe's is MAGA. It is a Jesuit school. MAGAs hate the Jesuits.

St. Joe's is definitely not MAGA. I'm sure there is a small percentage of kids who went to Philly private high schools who grew up wealthy and might be a little MAGA, but that's not the vibe.

We are thinking about Villanova, Haverford, Lafayette and Dickinson as an initial swing to get a good view of a few different types of small to medium schools in a 2-3 day trip. This thread came up when I searched which is why I'm reviving it.

Hi OP-- we did a similar trip last year. If you are okay leaving DC early, you can catch the first tour of Dickinson in the morning, and then get over to Lancaster in time to see Franklin & Marshall in the afternoon. We drove to the Philly suburbs and stayed overnight for two nights. The next day, we did Swarthmore in the morning, and Haverford in the afternoon-- but you could easily do Villanova and Haverford instead. Then the next day we got up early and drove to Lafayette for a morning tour and did Lehigh in the afternoon. (Note: We thought about overnighting near Lafayette, but decided to just do two nights in the same hotel in Philly to avoid moving around so much.) I definitely agree with everyone above who says don't do more than two colleges in a day.

ChatGPT was great for building a college tour schedule and driving plan last summer.

Posters are assuming St Joe's is MAGA because it's Catholic. What a bunch of bigots.

If you visit Lafayette, then visit Lehigh and Muhlenberg which are all close.

Franklin & Marshall is not really on the way unless you start at Dickinson and then drive to the Villanova-area schools.

Kid who is looking at the schools OP's kid is looking at is not going to get into Swarthmore -- don't waste the time and money. Haverford is also a reach, but not as crazy and a wonderful school. Just down the road from Villanova so maybe a quick driveby. . . .

+1. Make sure you ask to see the famous "PIPELINE TO THE STREET".

my oldest living in NYC, fairly recent male grad from a top ultra woke SLAC - him and roommates on dating app and said the Bucknell women on these sites are the complete package. friendly, laid back, successful, and of course generally very attractive persona - so keep your weird pipeline to the street comments coming, because for young men wykyk

It stands to reason that the Bucknell ladies are quite familiar with pipelines, and indeed, the subtle art of laying pipe. The lacrosse team has got to have a way to blow off steam after all that studying for securities operations and middle office roles.

I’d prioritize what seems like a good for academically that would be a target for admissions. Start at Dickinson (we really liked the tour) and do F&M that afternoon. Then drive to Villanova (tour in the am or keep moving), and then hit Lehigh and Lafayette, add Bucknell if really interested. Those have similar admissions standards (with Dickinson and F&M easier to get in) and appeal to a lot of the same kids. Add or subtract according to kids interest/stats. If wanted higher admit rates add Gettysburg, lower Haverford, etc. Good luck!
