Have sodium levels checked ASAP if they have not been already. My husband developed low sodium levels (hyponatremia) during cancer treatment and could not form coherent sentences.

I’m sorry no one has any more medical advice. When you have not great doctors it’s often helpful to do self advocacy about asking for tests and such, but it’s hard to do that if you don’t have medical knowledge or friends/families who have doctors. It’s fine for PPs to say “ask the doctor” but sadly some doctors either aren’t great or don’t have the bandwidth to be proactive. My nephew almost died in a hospital because the hospitalized kept giving him antibiotics that weren’t effective. It took him 3 days to see an actual specialist who immediately put him in the ICU with an order to transfer to a higher level hospital where they could provide ECMO. It turns out that hospital only had specialists on on certain days of the week.
