It takes more than wealth to get into Emory. If half of those UGA and Gatech students actually got into Emory, they would attend. Emory has a harder time yielding students at its level from schools with bigger brands. They're SAT avg is a 1550 this year, that's high enough to get into any Ivy/Vandy etc. |
Wealth alone doesn’t help for UGA or GA Tech admissions either. Especially for in-state. Many of the in-staters who get into those two schools also have the stats to qualify for the Zell Miller scholarship |
Stop with the stupid average sat if they have test optional. |
Can you explain? It's a tougher admit? |
| Emory has no sports big turn off for wealthy athletic families |
Zell Miller isn't hard to achieve. You need a 3.7 and a 1200 sat. |
Over 80% submit test scores this year. Said at the accepted students day. |
None of those schools have big sports except UGA, Vandy, Duke, Stanford...maybe Georgetown. |
Who needs democracy when you can have $10 more bucks in your pocket? Rich pr*cks. |
Only 20 percent away from being able to compare to the test required Ivies. |
|
My Baltimore private does better every year, on a per capita basis, and it isn’t the only private in Baltimore with better results. Seems like the big 3 must as well
Too much Uga. |
Emory can compete with Columbia, Penn, and Princeton then. |
Where kids choose to go to college has absolutely nothing to do with the caliber of the high school. |
| The lack of top lacs and very few ivy results makes this a pretty underwhelming group of results |
Agree, op, why did you post this? |
