+1 BU has a good business school too. |
| Lots of better options and not much school spirit. |
*because I'm ignorant about ice hockey |
For kids who prefer an urban campus, it’s a solid option. In terms of academics, it is what you make of it. Plenty of excellent opportunities for motivated students. |
Exactly. It's an urban campus, which is self-selecting. Close to 80,000 apply annually, so they are perfectly fine with the option. People quibbling over a T50 school are silly. |
If money isn't an issue, then BU. |
| BU is $90k. That is absurd for what is in essence a university for B+ students. |
It's a private college. Are there any other private colleges in the top 50 range you have issues with? Not everyone pays $90k. The DCUMers paying $50k for private high schools can afford BU tuition with a "merit" aid coupon. Average GPA for those accepted is 4.0. |
You're ridiculous for repeating this "not worth $90k" for any school that isn't T20. Sure, if you don't have the money, then you can't buy what they're offering. If it requires you to dip into savings or affects your lifestyle, you may choose not to buy what they're offering. But 80,000 applicants per year like it enough to explore their options. But the "absurdity" is you pretending that everyone shares your economic outlook for every T50 private school. |
| Nothing special about BU. |
|
BU is overpriced. Not prestigious. Has that really weird College of Basic Studies/spring admit program where they put low academic students.
If it was half the price? Maybe. But for $100k, that is absurd for pretend prestige. |
Why is this person constantly repeating. Okay, good to know your opinion. Isn't it great that everyone has different thoughts? |
No one claimed it was "special." OP, who presumably has the academic stats and can afford the tuition, is inquiring about admissions. Like 80k applicants do each year. |
Sock puppets with mental health issues. |
| Very expensive for mediocre school. |
