Losing interest in travel

So - don't do it?
Seriously, this is like saying, "I hate this luxury, what should do I?" Actually it's not even like saying, it IS saying, unless you phrased the question weirdly?

Who are you trying to please? Are you the planner and executor? You may just be in a rut. Stop traveling for a while and see if you get the urge.

I don’t do any of the activities you listed above when I travel. I love visiting new places to experience the culture, food, traditions, architecture, museums, etc…

Still you can get cathedraled out, museumed out and cuisined out

DP.. I can never get cuisined out. The others, yes.

I can. Certain parts of France the menu was almost identical at every place eg moules frites. At home I'm jumping between cuisines every day which isn't always possible outside major cities. In the UK, we had to cut back on the full English breakfast after two days

French person here. Bistros are similar in all of France, PP. You encountered bistro food. When everything is crowded and you're hungry, it can be difficult to find interesting food in touristy places, but if you do your research (and reservations) you will always find good food in France. No one eats a full English breakfast every day unless you want your arteries to give way early - that was meant for physical laborers in the before times. Unless you want to live in an apartment and cook for yourself on vacation, you'll have to be creative, right?

Also, I can never be cathedraled or museumed out, but I understand that others might

I do find myself gasping for vegetables after being in France. I don't know why top restaurants serve such pitiful vegetable sides when the markets have wonderful produce. My husband has traveled all over the world for work and you can tell when he's been in meat heavy places because all he wants is lots of salad when he gets home.

My favorite vacations were when I stayed with friends or family (US or overseas) and cooked for them. I had so much fun shopping for food locally. I would do it again in a second.

Go to different places with different activities.

If you are looking for variety, try an 11 night Mediterranean cruise and do a mix of city/villages/beaches. Do Rome pre or post cruise.

You seem outdoorsy, so perhaps consider a Sail Croatia trip? Google the YouTube videos (Rhett and Claire did a good one).

Which cities have you already visited?

West Africa is so much better than East Africa.

What places do you recommend? I have traveled to West Africa once and it was very slow. It felt like traveling to remote places in the deep South of the US.

I am curious about Senegal but the ohter countries don't seem to offer much beyond eating and sitting on the beach.I am not into hiking or animal sightings.

Maybe you're working too hard at having fun. Do you do all these activities when you're at home?

How about staying in one place with good views and nice food, and not doing much except swimming, walking, reading or whatever you enjoy. That could be nearby or in another country.

East Africa has all the game parks. West Africa does not. I'd never describe West Africa as "better" just different. It's probably appealing to those who want to claim to have done something different and off the beaten path.

Go to Namibia.

I lost my usual zest for travel when my DH and, in a separate incident, a close relative had to be medevac'd to the US within months of each other.
