Sounds like you are watching Fox News or something.

Most international students pay full price. That's why schools like to accept them.

Wasn't there also an article that said that international donors are paying these schools money to basically educate international students?

So it's a problem if a private school decides to give financial aid to an international student? Is that your point?

Using calculators (for example, https://college.harvard.edu/financial-aid/net-price-calculator), it looks like if your family's gross income exceeds 325k, regardless of your location, you get no aid and are essentially subsidizing anyone making less. It would be interesting to know what the real tuition would be if you were required to get loans and federal grants like public schools.

This thread has the odd vibe of a DOGE moron trying to figure out how to write an executive order to freeze funding to universities because they admit international students. Just use chat GPT like the rest of your colleagues.

What does that have to do with the question I asked?

Why on earth would this be an issue? One of the good things about the US is that we have some of the best universities in the world. And very often, those working or middle class students from abroad who study here go on to do major research or start companies that generate billions in revenue. Why is that a problem?

Because for the MAGAs in this world, they are "taking seats that their kid should of had"

I agree with you---we currently benefit greatly from the kids who come and get educated here and often stay and do great things. We should want highly educated immigrants. They are not preventing your kids from succeeding in the same way---they just want it more (many are escaping countries where there are not as many opportunities so they have an added drive to succeed)

MAGAs are getting into Ivies?
Oh
Right
At least one fudged their way in 60 years ago
And look what they went on to do in their lifetime. UPenn must be so proud.

I came here as an international student for my undergrad. Full ride at HYP, they even paid for my plane ticket.

At the time I was applying, only HYP were need blind for internationals. Now, I believe, more schools are.

While Ivy League schools offer need-based financial aid to all accepted students, including international students, students from China, like other international students, are generally expected to pay tuition.

What is your problem?
Your stupid child did not get in?
