Hilton Head. My kids love it (and so do I!). |
We just got home. We went on a Royal Caribbean cruise with our kids ages 11 and 8. They've brought it up multiple times in the past few years as something they want to do and although it has never crossed DH or I's minds as a trip *we'd* like to take, we found an itinerary that was just painfully cheap out of Port Canaveral and told ourselves "it's only 5 nights."
We had two full days at sea, a stop in Nassau (where we went on a snorkeling excursion and shopped around at the little markets) and a stop in Labadee, Haiti (where we did the over water zipline and then just relaxed at the beach). Really nice trip. Weather was fantastic, food was admittedly not great but it was adequate enough that I never went hungry. I think my favorite part was sitting on the cabin balcony in the morning, reading a book with my coffee, and watching the beautiful blue sea. I have no need to go on another cruise, but we had a lot of fun as a family! |

A few days each in Munich, Rome, and Siena |
Staycation. We do two big international trips a year - Spring Break is just a week for us, it's not enough time to go anywhere fun, and too cold for the beach. |
You can spend as many days at the ocean snorkeling and swimming as you want. Inland, you'll want at least one full day for ATM cave and another full day for the ruins. We paid our hotel for a transfers (airport--> hotel and hotel-->beach) and didn't rent a car. |
I am renting a car, but we’re Airbnbing so no hotel recs, sorry. |
You will love this. Amazing place. |
Carmel Bakery! Perhaps the best pretzel I’ve ever had. |
Really trashy to post something like this at a time when so many in the DC area have been laid off or are facing such uncertainty. Hope it made you feel good to flaunt how unaffected you are by the chaos the orange idiot has unleashed. |
DP. Don’t read the thread. It’s a fun and light thread and good distraction in this time of chaos. |

I am definitely not unaffected. I’m just running out of time with my kids and want to make memories with them. |
We already had spring break because we don't live in a theocratic state. |
