This, for sure. County supported services for immigrants, like language instruction programs, are expending resources to inform illegals of their "rights", patently encouraging them to try to evade authorities.

Np. I’d be curious to see a comparison for a 1m house in FFX and 1m in Loudoun. I’m in loudoun and mine hasn’t increased dramatically since we bought. But my house is worth 400k more.

Loudoun and PW are floating in data center cash. There just aren't that many places in FFX for that.

The circumstances right now are exceptional. To be laid off during normal times, fine, just go out and get another job. During these times, not so easy. Even if you have many months or years of emergency savings, big tax hikes hurt. So yes I think it is a terrible time to be raising property taxes so much. The problem is irresponsible spending and lack of stewardship on the part of the board of supervisors. Regular people are the ones stuck with the consequences. Let’s not forget that unless you bought your house quite a few years ago, downsizing locally isn’t really a solution either if you need to decrease expenses.

Yes, you do. We stayed in our small crummy, under $400K house, now worth $600K because we factored in things like repairs, taxes, etc. Why didn't you?

Loudoun and PW are floating in data center cash. There just aren't that many places in FFX for that.

They also are more restrained in spending, especially for social feel-good initiatives aimed at "equity".
