Yes I agree w/you 💯 percent that women CAN be very dangerous as well. However in this case - it would have been unusual if a woman had followed both of these girls then killed them. It would be possible just not probable imo. |
You should watch it because it doesn’t show anything “bad” but it shows how a normal guy walking in the park can turn out to be so evil. A teachable moment. |

I followed this case in detail from the start. For years I was convinced Richard Allen was guilty. But in the year before his trial, I started to have doubts. I feel his "confessions" may have been the result of psychological trauma and insanity brought about from solitary confinement.
As an avid true-crime follower, I am not sure the jury convicted the real killer. I truly think there was reasonable doubt. |
Jury trials are far from reliable as far as determining if someone committed a crime. Without a confession, it's about 70% probability they are correct on average. The average juror is around 90 I.Q. and easily deceived by slick talking lawyers. Jury selection is determined by the lawyers and which jurors they think they can sway or manipulate to their side (Both prosecution and defense.) It's not about the truth. It's about winning their case. |
Oh you are so right about that. I naively though DAs were about getting to the bottom of the truth. Nope, absolutely not. Once they decide to bring charges, they are only about prevailing in court, to demonstrate they were correct in making those charges in the first place. I have been privy to the sneaky, nasty, unfair stuff DAs do to basically twist the hands of the accused into pleading, which lets the DA "win" case after case. |

Exactly. The "OMG! I wish I hadn't watched this!" reactions are bizarre. The video doesn't show him grabbing the girls, or yelling at them, or saying anything sinister. The video doesn't show the girls screaming or crying and trembling in fear. The video seems like a perfectly normal situation of one person passing others on a wooded trail. |
| If only these girls ran away from him. |
They were on a 63 foot high bridge with no sides, the width of a railroad track. Since they were concerned about the guy, running towards him and passing him on the narrow dangerous bridge surely felt risky. So they went further towards the isolated end of the bridge and exited into the woods and that is where he caught up to them and trapped them. There were a few houses up from the isolated bridge end, but I saw video and it didn't look easy to run that way. And not sure the home owners were even home. Maybe they could have screamed, but it wasn't like there were other people on the bridge or even nearby on the path where they entered the bridge. The single girl who saw a man near the bridge passed the 2 girls on their way to the bridge and she was probably long gone by the time Abby & Libby started their walk across the bridge. |

I have watched different commentary on different crime channels from various people on what exactly is their take on how the two girls reacted based on how they interpreted the video and I mostly agree.
The girls were both kinda freaked out that they were in such a remote area and some random man was so close to them there. But I think they were also being mindful that he could have also been just a harmless hiker as well and they didn’t want to overreact or seem rude. I think Libby DID film the creepy guy for cautionary purposes yet didn’t want the guy to catch on to this either because she didn’t want to appear rude or didn’t want to anger him. It is clear when she is heard discussing the “path” to go to, she is simply doing so as an excuse to be creating the video. It is very obvious that Abby was very afraid of the bridge guy because after exiting off the bridge, she is seen quickly running by Libby. Of course hindsight is 20/20 so it would have been advantageous had she called 911 - however at that point the bridge guy had not committed a crime yet. It would have been a good idea to run away from him since they both had somewhat of a head start from him. He may have caught up to them if they had. Or due to their age/better health they may have easily outrun him. Sadly we will all never know since they are both sadly gone now. 🕊️🕊️ |
