I watched the debate last night and wanted to sucker punch him in the face.

I saw some of the debate too and the one thing that struck me is the obvious competence among the Canadian candidates relative to the horrifically embarrassing Trump vs Biden debates. We have 8 times more people to choose from. How does this happen? Are our voters that much more stupid?

Happy Tuesday!

Libs seem to have peaked at the end of March, and are slipping slightly in the polls

Down to only 80% chance of majority, plus 15% chance of plurality that requires either NDP or BQ to form a coalition.
Conservatives meanwhile would need a best plausible outcome at the polls plus somehow win over both NDP and BQ into their coalition in order to take power.

It looks like Carney is going to be the man with the plan in the can.

It doesn't seem like Pollievre's financials impressed many today.

Canadians - please remember tomorrow matters for our figure, whatever your political
Alignment. If you haven’t hit the advanced polls, every vote counts while we’re are truly looking at a changed world, and one that would like to change us.

I was at the first Ottawa Rapid professional women’s soccer team game today in Ottawa, and they made sure to tell fans to ā€œGo Voteā€ tomorrow.

I do wonder how much play this gets in Canada, vs just being entertainment for his US base.

And the old days, in countries that speak different languages from US, it was common for leaders to say one thing in their home language and a different thing in English, because most people wouldn't see both.

But with Internet and computer translation and Canada speaking 80% English anyway, that doesn't work as well.

He just kept his mouth shut for a while because he was tanking the chances of the candidate who would have been sympathetic to him.

We all knew he would start back up as soon as it looked like there was no chance. And here he is right on schedule. Must mean that Carney will be the next PM for sure.

Canadian here. I’m tempering my election anxiety by fighting with antivaxxers on Internet forums today. I’m hoping the former governor of Banks will be able to sway us away from becoming a 51 state. Unfortunately PP says he wouldn’t seek things like this (including women’s rights) out, but would support his MPs doing so. That says everything. Gonna be a hard day, even though I feel Hopeful going in.

Again though - please, whatever your choice, if you didn’t hit the advanced polls, please vote today. All of our voices are important. This is true democracy, even if not perfect.
