| ECNL is based in NoVA and just went from 5 teams to 3 teams in less than 2 years. I would say that all this was done or allowed to be done with some intentionality. Believe what you will and I will do the same. |
| Since when is Richmond NoVA? |
| ECNL not in Fairfax? Either way this is clearly the largest geo market and in their backyard and thus my point stands. |
intentionally that they want to lose Arlington? Not sure what you are getting at. |
If intentional it was done to build up remaining teams who they view as more viable. |
Yes this was probably the whole point. Too many teams to be truly elite. So decrease teams. Girls shift. Not pathetic at all. |
4D Chess, baby |
I posted this in the other McLean leaving ECNL thread and someone laughed at me claiming Arlington was so popular they didn't need to leave ECNL. I posted this was confirmed by two Arlington coaches. The club applied to GA and will be joining then in 2025-2026 season. Was confirmed 3-4 weeks ago. |
I mean 2026-2027. |
That's not how this works, but sure |

Arlington ECNL parent, so take that for what it’s worth; but on the girls side we don’t care about “team” wins and losses, and neither do college coaches. Team needs to be good enough that coaches show up to watch, good enough that it allows my kid to show what she does best, and good enough to help her develop.
Everyone on this list treats the rankings like it matters - we are reminded over and over that coaches recruit players, not teams. So if ECNL continues to get more college coaches to show up and gives more opportunities for my kid to show her ability to perform and to persevere, then ECNL is where I want to the club to stay. |
+1…you don’t apply 18 months in advance for the 2026 season. Sorry. |
| Check out instagram for girls. Someone clued them into this thread. They doubled down on the long term commitment. |
you are so naive and ignorant |
