Arlington to lose ECNL

Anonymous
ECNL is based in NoVA and just went from 5 teams to 3 teams in less than 2 years. I would say that all this was done or allowed to be done with some intentionality. Believe what you will and I will do the same.

Since when is Richmond NoVA?

ECNL not in Fairfax? Either way this is clearly the largest geo market and in their backyard and thus my point stands.

If intentional it was done to build up remaining teams who they view as more viable.

Anonymous wrote:lol. And why would this happen? Of all the teams that have lost Ecnl, Arlington has none of the issues.

Decisions are not made that far in advance.

Idiot.

The application is already in for the following season......MLS/GA is coming your way!!

There is no such thing as an application for 26-27 for any league. So this is nonsense. Never mind it being in.

Applications don’t open until November. Arlington will be watching developments in the GA and evaluating if the ECNL with less local games is an option they want to continue with.

There are really not a lot of less local games. Arlington will be much stronger now with NVA gone. NVA took 3-4 top Arlington girls every year.

lol. Addition by subtraction. How pathetic.

We’re #1 because everyone else is leaving!

Aim high!

Yes this was probably the whole point. Too many teams to be truly elite. So decrease teams. Girls shift. Not pathetic at all.

Sounds like this was written by a parent who wants fewer talented kids at Arlington ID sessions

I posted this in the other McLean leaving ECNL thread and someone laughed at me claiming Arlington was so popular they didn't need to leave ECNL. I posted this was confirmed by two Arlington coaches. The club applied to GA and will be joining then in 2025-2026 season. Was confirmed 3-4 weeks ago.

That's not how this works, but sure

Arlington ECNL parent, so take that for what it’s worth; but on the girls side we don’t care about “team” wins and losses, and neither do college coaches. Team needs to be good enough that coaches show up to watch, good enough that it allows my kid to show what she does best, and good enough to help her develop.

Everyone on this list treats the rankings like it matters - we are reminded over and over that coaches recruit players, not teams.

So if ECNL continues to get more college coaches to show up and gives more opportunities for my kid to show her ability to perform and to persevere, then ECNL is where I want to the club to stay.

+1…you don’t apply 18 months in advance for the 2026 season. Sorry.

Check out instagram for girls. Someone clued them into this thread. They doubled down on the long term commitment.

As has been stated before in all the threads ---- Arlington burned the GA bridge. It will not reopen for them. It is gone. They are in ECNL until it is gone.

Except that GA is not ECNL. GA will take Arlington back. I’m

I get what you are saying but GA is not likley to let them back so not even an option.

But why would they go back. This all clubs looking at GA is a false narritive. No one is looking to switch except NVA which was just stupid and McLean which was stupid spite.

you are so naive and ignorant
