| Less teams, less roster spots for top players to try and play together. Increased chances for top players to play together now. Doesn't matter who you're playing if your speed of play is ECRL level so talent trumps everything. Better chance of having a talented roster right now with less ECNL teams for top players to have to figure out if they can make it there or not. |

lol. Addition by subtraction. How pathetic. We’re #1 because everyone else is leaving! Aim high! |
If you don't know when to use "less", as opposed to "fewer", I'm not likely to take your opinion seriously. |

Only lame if you felt like we had just the right number of ECNL clubs in NoVA. Don't think anyone ever thought that...?
3 feels right now. I'd be happy with 2 to really allow the cream to rise. 3 is far better than 5 which what we had lesss than 2 years ago and a middling GA prescence (FCV excluded). Now GA is in a stronger place to compete locally, however top players will still try to go to the 3 ECNL clubs first until further notice. So its 100% a numbers and perception game which stands to benefit ECNL HS aged teams significantly in the short term. Don't care which direction this goes just reminding folks that theses changes aren't happening everywhere. So don't mistake this for anything thats happening on a national landscape at the moment. |
No worries broseph no one takes grammar police on chat boards seriously either. So we're in good company, together. |
They do a "fairly good job at developing players at the younger age groups." Really? Never said by an Arlington parent. They are playing there because it is close and ECNL. If a club is "developing" it is for their own marketing strategy. They are the first to blast all over social media, but the club doesn't really do anything other than sign up for college showcases. |
Confirmed |
Do you honestly believe that NOVA is a trend-setter in girl's soccer? |
Depends on the parent lol |
| Just a few years ago in the DMV, ECNL was the dominant league on the girls side with just one outlier club run by BP. It doesn't seem crazy now to think we are headed there again. All the local girls teams in GA except for one outlier club run by BP. |
Sounds like this was written by a parent who wants fewer talented kids at Arlington ID sessions |
Isn't the application closed and not yet open for 26/27 season? |
Ding ding ding Or someone who was ECNL and the club chose to prioritize the boys. |
Your goal may be to have the fewest number of teams to allow the cream to rise. But that is in no way the goal for an individual club which is simply to fill their rosters with customers. It's also not really the goal for an individual player unless maybe you are the top of the top players. It's not even the goal for ECNL which make more money from having more clubs. There isn't much incentive for anyone to collectively work together to make the DMV turn out the best soccer players possible. That's why it will never happen. |
