Gabby Petito Documentary on Netflix

Brian Laundrie clearly learned his sociopathic behavior from his parents.

So sad!

It demonstrated that men identify with the male partner, rather than the victim. They should all have to take training in unconscious bias. (Though of course, with Trump and his bros in power, women don’t have a prayer).

I could not believe when the officer said to the soon-to-be murderer that Gaby was just like his wife. Chilling.

They were in it.

Most people in America don’t go to college.

You cannot control a 20 year old.

They contacted an attorney before Brian even left Wyoming, blocked her parents from contacting them, showed no concern for Gabby, “found” Brian after a 45 minutes search despite the authorities searching for weeks and that “burn after you read” letter from his mom. It’s all disgusting.

They should DEFINITELY have been charged with obstructing justice.

What horrible people.

Ugh, bad message.

How about every man should learn not to abuse women?

Exactly!!! She was murdered.

Are you saying that is because of her communication skills!!!!

It’s weird how such a cute girl seemed so aimless and got mixed up with this loser boy. Nearly all girls her age at least attempt college. At any local university she would have had ambitious boys trying to date her, not losers going nowhere in life.

She got into SUNY Fredonia for art but didn't go. She moved to FL with her loser and worked at Publix.

Seems like she was consistently supporting him/bankrolling their plans!! 🙄

They all seem like great parents (both parents and step parents) they just seem a little hands off. To hear them describe it, they all expressed shock that she wanted to move to FL but never told her she shouldn't go.

She was 22!

It also said she was working long hours at Taco Bell in Florida. And that's when Brian would start to lose his mind with his "I miss you" messages.

All of this. Those cops should be ashamed of how they acted.

The cop had enormous baggage because he projected his wife onto her, he even said so several times! Is his bias her fault as well? As a woman, if I saw a young woman upset like this and a way too calm man, I would immediately think he is the dangerous one.

The cop was so proud of himself too. He thought he had it all figured out.

I wonder if BL told his parents the truth from the beginning or if he told his lie that he wrote in the note?

I still give my kids advice and guidance at that age.
College-- she should have went.

Of course. But the PP asked why her parents let her go. I was responding to the “let her” part.

She had already moved away from Long Island and lived in North Carolina for a while. It’s not like moving away was a new thing.

I really dislike any hint that the parents had any fault here.

She was only 20 when she moved away, and 18 when she decided to skip college. And plenty of parents have influence over 22 year olds - those that are financially dependent. My college age kids know I have some say over major decisions in their life if they want to remain on the payroll, which they do.

I don’t understand your point. Her choice was to earn her own money and not be on the payroll. The goal is launch independent children no matter which path they choose.

Even though I judge the cops, they were not ultimately responsible for her death.

The sole person at fault here is Brian.
