Why are we buying $400mil in armored Teslas?

$400 million worth? That's not efficiency.

For the climate.

Because Biden insisted on going 'green' with government purchases.

Fire Musk. He is corrupt.

You think any of them have enough decency to come back and say they blindly hopped on the outrage train without checking the facts? It's funny they think Republicans are in a cult. Classic cult behavior right here, folks.

I don’t know if it’s disinformation or not because I spent zero time reading about it, but disinformation is your friend. That’s how you got here to begin with, so don’t knock it.

Not quite. There isn't a contract at the moment. It's an anticipated purchase that for some reason was not autocanceled by Elon like everything else was.

No doubt it's a combination of Biden Admin pushing EVs for everything and State needing to purchase new armored vehicles.

It's the perfect example of Democratic stupidity and Trumpian graft. We shouldn't be purchasing armored EVs because of charger limitations and we damn well shouldn't be purchasing cybertrucks because of reliability issues.

Rachel Maddow ran with it. No time out let’s verify and get some context guys. Just ran like a cheetah.

Tesla products are absolute crap. Musky's DOGE cancelled everything but his contract with the US government for his POS vehicles.

I don't see anything wrong with the thread. Musk is still a POS, and his Tesla products still worthless.

PS: Every month we get more info on how garbage his vehicles are. "DOGE" should be cutting this deadweight. Why not? Old Musky got his fingers in this greasy pie, too?

It’s funny how republicans are suddenly fans of facts and nuanced thinking. When did that start?

And the fragile, fragile snowflake feelings they have.

There was no contract. There was a general plan to buy new armored vehicles and presumably a Biden executive order for new vehicles to be EVs.

Elon discovered this and jumped on it for his own benefit.

Every freaking contract was put on hold or cancelled - even things like food already loaded on ships. Yet this thing, which hadn't even gotten to the RFP stage, is being pushed through and expanded. State doesn't need 4,000 cybertrucks when there are less than 300 Embassies and Consulates.

It's a perfect example of something we should all be coming together to denounce. EVs are useless in the developing world and State doesn't need 4,000 armored vehicles.
