What does the US need with these pieces of scrap?
$400 million worth? That's not efficiency. https://electrek.co/2025/02/12/us-state-department-has-budget-line-for-armored-teslas-worth-400-million/ |
| To ferry around the State Department personnel that President Musk is about to fire? |
| To save Elon from all his other losses. He’s just robbing us all right now. And for some reason, no one with any power seems to think he should be arrested. Can you imagine NOT being arrested if you tried to get into one of these buildings and computers???? The rest of us would be shot. |
| When did the State Department decide to buy these? I believe it was under Joe Biden's administration, well before Elon came along and hurt your feelings. |
Tesla sales have dropped 50% in Europe. They're not so popular with American consumers either. Did you really think DOGE exists to save the US Taxpayers money? It's to enable Trump and Musk to advance their business interests...financed by you the taxpayer! |
Isn't Elon supposed to be rooting out waste from the prior administration? Why isn't he canceling this contract? |
It's going to be amazing to see how much Tesla sales collapse in the US this quarter. When you're dependent on liberals to buy your product and you come out as a liberal hating neo-hitler, your company is going bankrupt. |
| The cyber truck is a huge failure. He’s forcing a bailout for his company. |
Yep, they are rusting away on lots and now he's forcing taxpayers to bail him out of his failure. Total corruption. |
| Because this is how oligarchy works. Oligarchs benefit from the public's money. It is all a grift. |
| Because Musk runs what used to be the United States of America. We all pay into Musk.com now. |
| Musk needs to make back his $250 million investment in Trump |
|
I'm curious too when the contract was issued for these - saw it this morning and nearly spit out my coffee.
This would be an example, if issued by the past administration, to jump all over and cancel, cancel. But, if written by DJT, perfectly acceptable. Also, in the press conference, I thought Musk's comments about the SpaceX contracts was so ridiculous, something along the lines of well someone else is issuing those...yeah, ok. As far as Telsa overall, one of our good friends refuses to drive hers and is looking at how to dump it. |
| Because the point of all.thus is to free up US Treasury funds to then give to Musk. |

Note that the Department of State has changed the procurement entry. It used to read "Armored Teslas". Now it reads "Armored Electric Vehicles".
https://time.com/7221880/state-department-2025-procurement-forecast-tesla-armored-electric-vehicles-musk/ Also odd that this is the only contract entered into by radical socialist leftists that doesn't seem to be based in fraud and corruption. Hmmmm |
