No, the MVA admin all got jobs and some teachers and staff did but many were fired.

Citation needed.

Citation for what? It’s well known in the MVA community. Many were not replaced or offered new positions as they knew they were cutting it but it was long past transfer season so some teachers got put where ever and others had no positions to return to. They were not even offered jobs in the new not great virtual program. Many students and teachers left Mcps.

Great news! I appreciate them looking into the matter and fixing it. A very much needed service that is not CO.

That's great news! They shouldn't be cut. Thanks CO!

That sounds different than "many were fired."

Does this mean hiring freeze until CO people are placed?

The involuntary transfer season happens every year where everyone else has to wait until the I.T.s are placed, nothing new this year.

What about paraeducators? Any cuts announced?

Why would paras be cut? They're in shortage.

81 less FTEs is 81 less FTEs, so yes it is a reduction in staff. Perhaps not enough, but hey, a start!

It's so frustrating!

Principals should be getting the staffing soon. MCPS should be putting out their staffing calendar soon. But the website still has last year's info.

So far I am not impressed with how this has all been handled. It would be different if there was a vision that was shared with us as to how the re organization of things would help us.

Infant and Toddler's SLP's cut to help with the deficit in school based SLP's. I also heard there were cuts to the Autism staff.

My child really benefited from infants and toddlers. It's a good program

I wasn't impressed with it and we did everything privately but there's a need if parents don't have access to private services or aren't willing.

I heard principals aren’t getting this yet due to the reshuffling of CO.

Isn't the reshuffling taking effect on July 1?

That is the new hires official start date. There are positions to fill from central office involuntary transfers that will need to go somewhere.
