Birthday Party / Food for Adults

Anonymous
Some years ago I made a post here asking how much pizza to order for a non-mealtime venue party. Half the people responding told me I needed to plan for 2-3 slices per adult plus fruit or veggies on the side and the other half said ew, gross, nobody wants crappy lukewarm bouncy house pizza at 3PM and only fatties eat anything whatsoever between lunch and dinner hours. So you can't win.

That's so offensive. I would never do that. Everyone gets local pizza.

My kids would riot because they vastly prefer the Dominos to the "fancy".

If your kids would riot over food options, then you need to work really hard on their manners.

So who was right? Did you order 15 pizzas and take 7 home?

+1

I never want drop-off parties when done at a venue mainly because I do not want to be babysitting kids. Also, if a kid is difficult or having a meltdown, then I want the parents to deal with it. So, I always invite parents and siblings and am happy to feed them and give them tokens to play. At the end of the day, I want to see my kid have fun and I want to capture those moments. And if some kids want to linger on after the party is over, well, their parents are right there with them. If the place provides beer for adults, I order that too.

Yes, ordered extra for the adults to partake and had tons of leftovers. I think I saw one dad have a slice and none of the moms touched it (though most everyone accepted a piece of cake!)

I mean, I get it. Don’t you? The pizza with arugula and balsamic drizzle is t going to be popular with the 8 yr olds

Sorry, the kids around where I live are total foodies. I forgot about regular kids who cry if one thing on their plate touches something else.

It would be hysterical if you two know each other IRL!

The beauty of the quote is that it applies to nearly all conceivable takes on the situation.

Sounds about right. I have never seen the moms at a party inhale 2-3 pieces of pizza.

Ahh, DCUM. No one just eats pizza, they always inhale it. Never change.

3 slices is excessive at a non meal time. Yet people claim it happens all the time. Im guessing it’s pizzerias just trying to get people to border way more pizza then they will ever need.

That's an idea. Instead of food have an ozempic bar for the adults.

Oh wow, I must be in a different crowd. Even trampoline parties have options for adults that I've been to and yea, the parents ate.

OP, I've seen chicken sliders, wings, fruit and veggie cups, and yes, just pizza is fine too.

Tell parents in advanced that there is food for them. Most don't provide it so people eat ahead. We've always had parents eat. I aways did pizza, subs, salad, chips, fruit and veggies.

The adults don’t eat anything. Don’t waste your money.
