What now- shouldn't drink tea with tea bags?

All the crap from Amazon is sprayed regularly with rodent killer and pesticides, wrapped in plastics, made of plastic or treated wood products… don’t even get me started on on clothing and how it’s all grown, processed, and stored with toxic chemicals. Just cut buying new things.

I’m 55 and grew up in an era of shopping as entertainment and I’m realizing just how messed up that was. I’ve cleared out the houses of deceased relatives filled with so much unnecessary stuff and I just don’t want to live that way. I’m trying to change my ways and use what I already have without accumulating more.

Depressing. Is there any risk that a tea strainer would be made with harmful metals?

Tea in teabags sold at the store is disgusting anyway. Who bothers to drink that trash?

Everything is trying to kill us. Does it even matter at this point?

Veggies, eggs, meat... they're recalled every other week. Eggs are good! Eggs are bad! Eggs ARE good not bad! Only use coconut oil. My dad's cardiologist: no one should EVER use coconut oil. My dad's RD: you should only cook with avocado oil. SEED OILS WILL KILL YOU! Never use oil for sautéing for frying, only use water. The city: the water is *probably* fine to drink unless you live in an old house with lead pipes. But just to be sure, kids and elderly should definitely drink bottled water. Society experts: bottled water is killing you.

One of the last quotes from my aunt, who ate very clean her entire adult life, including being a vegetarian for most years, and still got cancer: I can't believe the last slice of cake I ate was 37 years ago. What the bleep was I thinking?

So, EAT THE CAKE. Don't only eat cake, but eat it. No one will ever stand at your casket and say something like "damn, she should have eaten less cake" or "carrying this thing will be a breeze because she never ate animal products, you know?"

I am literally smoking again and can't even take on the anxiety I used to experience over this kind of stuff. We are just awash in chemicals and inflammatory additives. The tea bags are like the least of your problems. The drinking water has probably already poisoned you within an inch of your life.

I don't think Numi tea is disgusting at all.

Those fancy pyramid shaped tea bags are the worst. Stick to paper tea bags (ideally ones like Republic of Tea but any of the paper ones), those are better.

They no longer make those (cost cutting measure I believe) and now the tea is in a typical square tea bag.
