Close to home, I recently went to richmond with little planning and was surprised at how lovely the art museum, the Lewis Ginter Botanic Garden, maymont, the fan, and carytown were. Looking forward to going back and exploring more.

Agree that places close to us are also amazing. We experienced a beautiful multicolored and everchanging sunrise on Assateague Island (near Chincoteague) this summer. Memorable morning. Uncrowded beach.

I would also include Longwood Gardens outside of Philadelphia as a place that will blow you away.

I love skiing so tend to be blown away by beautiful mountains. Alta is my favorite - it’s even my screen saver.

Chateau Lake Louise
Sicily - all of it, even the gritty parts
London - been so many times and still love it
Cape Cod National Seashore
Sabi Sands game preserve

I love Venice. It has endured for so long under such unusual circumstances. I think it is amazing to think that people came up with an idea to build a city on stilts on the water and it still exists today. I also love how quiet it is in the evenings when all of the cruise ship people are gone. I was there in November once, and it was so quiet and beautiful at night.

Same - I went last winter and it was gorgeous. At night it was foggy and so beautiful. I think it's still magical. No cars and the size makes it very walkable. Just be sure get out of the main touristy areas (which are great too but crowded) and wander.

Grand Tetons — we did a horse ride dinner in a meadow below the peaks and it was maybe the most lovely place I’ve ever been.

Hubbard Glacier (was more striking for me than glacier bay but GB was very foggy when I went)

Napali coast of Kauai

Green sand beach on Big island

York Minster

Grand Canyon at sunset or hiking in/put

Al Alhambra

Seegeyiv posed aka zagorsk — but don’t recommend that one anytime in the foreseeable future!

Oh forgot to add Chichen Itza when you could climb the pyramids and Xunantunich which still allows you to climb

The Great Barrier Reef- as a teenager we took an overnight snorkel trip leaving from Cairns. It was my first time ever snorkeling. I truly think it ruined snorkeling for me. I’ve snorkeled many times in the Caribbean as an adult and every time I think, this is nothing compared to the Great Barrier Reef.

I love it there. I’m so pissed this has been an awful week.
