I love not having sidewalks!

Our neighborhood doesn't have sidewalks but has really wide shoulders. There's space for walkers, cyclists, strollers, scooters, dog walkers. Plenty of parking overflow if you need it from your driveway. The roads sort of curve and there are tons of trees, so maybe sidewalks didn't make sense. Lots of kids. Wildlife everywhere.
It's not bad having no sidewalks in this situation.

Sounds like my neighborhood. Are you in B-dale?

I love it too. Weather is usually pretty nice when it’s snowing. You get a good work out.

You love not being able to safely walk in your own neighborhood? Weird.

Tell me you’re a huge loser without telling me you’re a huge loser. Not a flex, OP

You love having a dangerous neighborhood?!

Same! It's the best during snowstorms. Ahhh....

We do have a walkway but no one uses it. The postal carrier crosses the lawn.

I don't mind shoveling our sidewalk - it's good exercise. And most days of the year, sidewalks make my neighborhood SAFER.

Do you have to shovel the sidewalk or is that common property?

I don't understand how someone can be so lazy as to not shovel your sidewalk on the rare occasion it snows enough here. It's like 2x a year, max.

Put on some pants, and go get some exercise.

But these are also probably the same people who don't ever go out for a walk, so they don't understand the importance of keeping sidewalks clear. And they also probably don't understand exercise.

We're looking for a house now and won't buy anything without sidewalks. Also no sidewalks looks cheap.

Nah, lived in Arlington and it looked like some cheap part of Queens. Tiny houses, concrete everywhere. Yuck.

No. But I think the type of neighborhood like yours and mine gets overlooked because of the missing sidewalks.

I'm not lazy! I just want to go x country skiing with my time and not have to shovel a sidewalk.
