I am not cut out for Costco

This. DH and I dropped our membership after we had kids because I just didn't want to spend my precious free time in stores. We recently re-upped because we bought a car using their program, which made the membership worth it financially. There's enough online that I'm enjoying the membership as a perk but I will not go to the actual store.

I have never stepped foot in a Costco in my life.

Not because I’m too good for it (although I do hyperventilate in overwhelming places like IKEA, so maybe I would react similarly to Costco). I’m a single mom of one - we just don’t need all that big stuff.

I did the Wheaton location yesterday and it was not bad at all by Costco standards. but yes, I definitely have to be in the right mood for it and just expect/accept that every 4th aisle I will be stuck behind some couple who is blocking the entire lane to eat their salsa sample. It’s worth it for the Costco high

The Laurel Costco is a hot mess as well as the Eliicott City Costco. Agree on the Glen Burnie one, it's the better one to shop at for crowd control.

Also, what did you in was it's the 3rd of the month and people got paid, along with snow, weekend shopping and people being off still.

Spending two hours at Costco sounds horrible. We have a family of 7 and I really don’t think the prices are even that good. I don’t understand the appeal.

I went to the Fairfax location yesterday to top off the gas tank, just in case it snows. It wasn't terrible, but it was busier than a typical Thursday afternoon.

The "sample sharks" are amusing.

every 3 months or so I will drive out to the frederick costco and it’s a dream in comparison.

Instacart fees plus the Costco fee probably negate any savings.

Nope-And there are things that I can only get at costco. Also have non perishables shipped all the time and that alone makes it worth it. But I have 3 teenage boys so obviously my circumstances make bulk shopping a necessity. We also have a sam’s membership (I only do pickup) and walmart plus. I will do whatever to make things easier for myself 🙂.

I feel the same way and will never have a Costco membership or enter the parking lot under my own power

I went to the Gaithersburg location. OMG. It’s like if Gladiator and Squid Game were documentaries. The parking lot must qualify as one of the top 5 most populated cities in the U.S. just getting into the store— across the cross walk and through the entrance— required feats of aggression and a willingness to sacrifice elderly parents, young children, your limbs. Eventually I did make it inside with a cart and did some shopping, only to have my cart “taken” when I turned my head to look at something (or maybe they just took all the stuff in it, as there was an empty cart where my half full one had been when I turned back around).
To sum up: Costco has Kerry Gold butter for a good price, but I can’t imagine how I will ever succeed in buying it.

I never go to Gburg. I go to Wheaton. I’m there when the doors open and get on and out or I go late afternoon. There’s a brief time in the afternoon or right before closing that works. I also shop online and have it delivered.

Right! I ordered online at Giant and has it brought out to my car. Couldn’t go in. Did go to TJ’s at 9 and it was full but all the registers were open and there wasn’t a line.

Also if you have a Costco membership and go through their site, the Instacart fees aren’t bad.

Everyone “works from home” now op. Don’t you know that Friday is like Saturday. No one who works from hike actually works. They go to Costco. That’s why Amazon and musk want return to office.

Kill or be killed AND you're not even getting a good deal on anything look it up. It costs more to shop there.

not if you factor in the time savings of not having to actually drive and shop at costco. Happy to pay a fee to save a significant amount of time/my sanity.
