Holiday Card Cost - 2024 Holidays

Simply to impress
$80 for 50 cards with our address on the envelopes but we needed to place stamps and addresses on them for mail.

Much happier with this company than others we have used.

OP - you sound very thoughtful and intentional about your list. If it helps you to feel connected to people from different stages of your life - it is worth it.

I do t thrown my cards in the trash but keep them in separate ziplocks with year on them - going back many years.

I also save previous year cards. I store them with the Christmas decorations and go back through them in years when we're not rushed putting up the tree. Kind of like photo albums of friends. I love them.

Some people have more money than common sense.

CVS is $1.99 for their cheapest cards on card stock. $1.29 for a 5x7 photo print “card”.

Now in years past when money was cheap, I would make my own card in PowerPoint, print that to a JPEG and then print that “card” on a 4x6 photo which was like $0.10, and then by bulk 4x6 envelopes. You could have 100 cards for $15. But they would be glossy print 4x6 photos not actual cards - my teen DD said they would rather not send anything at all then something THAT cheap.

So curious if you got a 4x6 photo as a “card” laid out with “Seasons Greetings” like a real photo card, would you give it side eye??

OMG no! Scold your DD for being so snobby. Or maybe you, for having brought her up like this! I send virtual holiday cards by email. We received 4 paper cards. I am not going back to paper.

We use snapfish. I’ve found it the best value if you want a nicer card than just a glossy photo print and there are lots of options to choose from. We got 70 5x7 fold photo cards (3 photos on front, 4 inside with 3 short paragraphs of text) for $63 with a discount code. We stamped and addressed them ourselves.

We cut the number of cards purchased by half this year and only sent to family and close friends. We used Shutterfly. The whole thing has just gotten expensive (even with the different “discounts”) and with what I feel - very little appreciation in return. We may just skip them altogether next year.
