| $28 for 30 cards at mpix. (Took advantage of the 50% off discount). I don’t mind addressing envelopes, but they do have the option for extra cost. Not sure about mailing for you though. |
| $170 for 80 from Shutterfly. More than last year because I looked it up to compare. |
How do you get the price that low? Even with 50% discount it’s $1.86/card? https://www.mpix.com/cards/new-years-cards/urban-sans-green |
| $94 for 75 cards from Nations Photo Lab. Lovely clearly printed pictures, cardstock was fine but I wish it was thicker, and blank envelopes. |
$1.86/card is before the discount is applied. Discount is applied in the cart during checkout. |
Yes, about $.15 before shipping, although I'm not sure there was a free shipping code at this price point, so more like $.48 each. The custom envelopes were $.44 each, so this order would have been almost free if I didn't want those. The Shutterfly website had a promo for 10 free cards and then I had codes for 15 free cards (I think that was from Target for Circle members), a free card (found with a quick Google search), and $25 off any order (don't know where that originated). It varies each year of course. |
| $108 for 100 cards at snapfish. They are heavy card stock with the fancy edges. It has the return label but I have to address and mail, which I don't mind. I buy them Black Friday every year. |
| $140 for 100 cards from Paper Culture, not including stamps and I addressed them myself. Addressing them yourself cuts down on costs big time and honestly doesn’t take very long to do. |
Pp here—forgot to mention that I take advantage of their Black Friday sale which is actually just a sale they run every year for a couple weeks around Thanksgiving. |
Oh so this is kinda of special case that won't scale to 100 -- you ordered kind of a sweet spot count that reduced per unit cost? |
Sadly by the time life has calmed down enough for me to do this in Thanksgiving (we travel out of state for both Thanksgiving and Xmas), I assume my kids will have completely aged out of being in our holiday cards -- maybe even having their own! Speaking of, what do empty nesters do -- I still want to get holiday cards, so do I just send a generic Xmas card because NO ONE wants to see my 55+ visage for the holidays.. |
your math ain't mathing! |
Haha, no kidding but its still ~$0.50 a card! |

These are normal prices; you're just getting old and your brain isn't keeping up with inflation.
Postage stamps have tracked overall inflation since 1980. |
| 80 cards for $170 from minted. I get free addressing but I don’t pay for the return address, I use a self inking stamp instead. I could pay less elsewhere, but I prefer Minted. The cards always look very nice and have a good weight. |
