No. It is based on the NNAT and CogAT scores.

When will we get the actual CogAT scores?? |
Pool letter is only for universal screener in 2nd grade? |
Maybe tomorrow. |
Does in pool mean higher chance of getting into full time AAP? How much higher? Thanks! |
I referred and did not get an email. I am not surprised. DD's cogat was a mess - she had to take it at another time because she was sick and there were tons of computer issues during the test. Wondering what the score was. |
Did everyone who was in pool get an email at 5pm?? |
Yes. |
Is that true for all of FCPS or is it by school? |
It’s not by school comes from the AAP office |
The email was for universal screener not parent referrals. The screening committees meet next year to decide so you’ll find out in April just like we will if they are accepted into AAP |
No! This is separate. This is the universal screener in pool email for second graders. Kids who scored well on abilities testing are in pool for screening next year. Parent referrals means you submitted your kid to be screened next year. We all find out if our kids got into AAP in April. |
yes |
Haycock likely has very high score to be top 10%. |
In a similar boat. Test situation was not optimal and dc is not always a conscientious test taker. Additionally, my understanding is that to be in pool they have to have done well on both the NNAT and CogAT. No one knows how they are weighted in the in-pool cut off score. My thought is to retake the CogAT if it's a really poor score. Not sure I would go the "private diagnosis" route and get a WISC. |
