Because you have to sit next to the poors on the metro.

The post speaks for itself. The automobile and highways facilitated the economic growth that made these into major cities.

Single occupancy vehicle development, whether based on fossil fuels or EVs, is completely unsustainable. Everyone gets that, but you apparently.

I mean, yes? If there hadn't been the automobile, LA would not have been built around the automobile. I thought that went without saying.

LA was actually built around streetcars and buses, until automakers bribed the local pols into ripping out the street cars. You should read up on this topic, you are incredibly ignorant about it.

It is plainly obvious and yet Marc Korman is lying and saying it was a “conspiracy theory” when there are Maryland Democratic officials on the record saying that they don’t want to fix the beltway because they are trying to protect BWI from IAD.

Depending on where you live, it may take twice as long to get to your destination.

Also depending on where you are going some metro stations are shady.

Reality says differently. “Sustainable” cities are cities with growing population and growing economies.

Top ten cities in the US by population (2023):
1. NYC
2. LA
3. Chicago
4. Houston
5. Phoenix
6. Philly
7. San Antonio
8. San Diego
9. Dallas
10. Jacksonville

To ten cities in the US by population (1930):
1. NYC
2. Chicago
3. Philly
4. Detroit
5. LA
6. Cleveland
7. St. Louis
8. Baltimore
9. Boston
10. Pittsburgh

In the sense that Maryland is not doing what Virginia wants? You don't need inside knowledge for that. It's obvious to anyone who's paying attention, and I hope it continues. I don't think Transurban should be in charge of Maryland's transportation policy.

Well, the former MD governor made an “accord” with the former VA governor that MD would expand the bridge. This MD governor has flaked on that commitment.

Our nova roads are filled with MD plates because the jobs are here.

The former Maryland governor is no longer governor, and his "accord" was extremely shady.

Maryland now has a different governor, and he makes the decisions - not the former governor.

I see a lot of VA plates in Maryland. So I guess the jobs are here.

I hate to burst your bubble but there are 2 Fortune 500 companies HQ’d in Montgomery County as opposed to 20 in Fairfax.
