There is no more disdain. They all understand Trump needs flattery and all that crap. It's like Louis XIV. Trump is the Sun King. And no one knows what he's going to do - but he's throwing out tariffs and national security issues that really impact a lot of countries. Really impactful things. But they all know being snide or disrespectful is going to cost their countries dearly. Trump is all about personal relationships. So all these presidents and prime ministers and even future kings are being very nice indeed.

I don’t know if they respect him, but they know they need to ingratiate themselves with the American president. I’m about as anti Trump as they get it, but honestly I think this is a good thing. We want countries to take relationships with our country and leader very seriously.

This maybe symbolically important to France, but it’s not actually important. Having the spouse of the US President go is perfectly appropriate. This isn’t G7; it’s a symbolic event attended by people who symbolize and represent their country (hence Jill and notJoe, hence the Prince William and not the King or PM)
