That's actually stripping your barrier.

That’s a fake term by the beauty industry marketing to sell you barrier repair products.

And double washing is a fake industry term to sell you more product in general. 🙄

Yes, I wear sunscreen every day so need an oil to remove that (Farmacy Green Clean Cleansing Balm or DHC Cleansing Oil) and follow with a foaming cleanser. I've been double cleansing for over 20 years do don't think it's a new thing at all though may have been more common with Japanese/Korean skincare.

I didn't know what micellar was so I did some googling. Once I figured out how to sidestep all the cosmetic/dermatology industry brand woo woo stuff I discovered it is what results when you mix soap and water.

Same.

I wash with only water and a facecloth. But I also don’t wear makeup.

Or sunscreen daily? That's what really needs to be removed even more than makeup.

No, I don’t wear daily sunscreen. I work from home and slowly turning into a vampire, especially now with the time change. I have to make a point of getting 20 mins of direct sunlight for vit D.

You don’t take a shower everyday then 🤔

Different PP and no, I don't take a shower every day. I am around people two times a week most weeks, and generally take a shower twice a week. I have always stood with my face out of the shower spray, even when I used to shower every other day religiously.

Same. Not good for your skin or your hair. I get that some people sweat a lot or smell and need to shower daily, but a lot of us don't, and if you don't need to it is better not to.

Cereve gentle wash

I think miceller water is sort of a cleanse, so maybe?

If I wear makeup, I will sometimes do a "rough" cleanse with the cereve to get the crap off, and then do a more thorough cleanse again. Still followed by miceller water. So yes, sometimes!

So basically the last thing you do is put soap on your face and leave it there?

I only wash my face in the shower (every 2-3 days) or if I've worn lots of makeup. I never use soap or fancy products, only jojoba oil to remove makeup. If I had a dollar for everybody who's told me they can't believe I'm over 60....

I do. I wear a heavy sunscreen and am prone to blackheads and get small pimples if I don't double wash (at age 60...).

Uh no. Maybe look up what this is before you post again, you look foolish.

If my face has foundation, sweat and/or excessive oil on it then I prefer to do a double-cleanse at night (as long as I am not too sleepy!)

I will wash my face first w/a makeup melting cleanser then follow up w/a gentle skin cleanser followed by a moisturizing facial toner.

Nope. I remove eye make-up and wash with a gentle cleanser at night. Usually just rinse with water in the shower in the morning.

FWIW I have always been told I have nice skin and only have had a small pimple here and there.

Nope
I use a prescription facial cleanser
Witch Hazel and
Prescription topical

Always.
