Now imagine the millions of women whose lives have been quietly destroyed by rape and nobody did anything, the rape kit just sat on a shelf for ten years, they asked what she was wearing, she was judged for whatever was the convenient excuse in her case. How many women - 26,000 in one state alone - have been forced to carry and bear the product of their rape. And then think how quickly you were able to grab an example, one example, from nearly twenty years ago, and how mad you still are. In other words, maybe the same germ of misogyny lives a lot of people and that’s what these talibangelicals are exploiting as they seek to consolidate power. The trains run on time now, after all. |

This. People in this country can be as Christian as they want to be, the problem is LEGISLATING their personally held beliefs. You don’t have to do any of the things you feel you’re being lectured on, you actually have the freedom to turn away from said lecturers, but people all over the country are being subjected to Christians trying to control them. To the pp on page one who suggested a “boogeyman” overreaction. No need to go to the crusades, the overturning of Dobbs was crafted by the religious right. I was in that naive camp who didn’t think it would happen and that the possibility was the “boogeyman” scare tactic used to get people to vote. Well, horrible lesson learned and I will never underestimate that group, or consider their motives pure, again. They want to reshape the US in their image and that is not why this country was founded. |

Yeah, those damn uppity women, wanting the same rights to bodily autonomy and medical decision making that men are entitled to. Who the hell do they think they are?! Thinking there’s something wrong about a corpse having more rights than women?! Ugh, they should read my version of the Bible and understand that my version of God is the only one that matters and He says women should shut up and worship men. |
