Where are your high achieving dyslexia students applying to college?

He is looking at small schools where he won’t fall through the cracks. He is essentially assuming he’ll not use accommodations in college, aside from using audiobooks where it makes sense to (long novels for lit classes). He hasn’t been good about using them in high school so we’ll just let it go.

So he is looking for a school where he feels he can thrive and be successful as he is, and where there is intellectual rigor and curiosity without being a pressure cooker. He is also very interested in knowing the school has good internship programs and career services.

So basically…he is treating his search as any other kid would. Trying to match up his interests/preferences to where he is likely to get in.

Looking for similar but a year away. Can you share the list he's applying to?

I have a 10th grader dyslexic/dysgraphic kid relatively high achieving student. Mostly As with a few Bs here and there, but only taking one honors class this year and no APs as a freshman or sophomore. Dual sport athlete with potential recruitment options. Just started Spanish this year to get in 3 years of FL. Also has a lot of other ECs. Orchestra. Professional theater credits. What schools would be decent options to look at? Any advice on how to beef up their stats in the next couple of years?

PP again. Has anyone hired educational consultants sophomore year to help students figure this out and navigate? I keep getting ads on j social media for Crimson and Princeton Review. Are these worthwhile?

I had previously posted the list of accepted colleges for students from Lab as a starting point to explore if the schools are a fit and determine for you student if the supports are a match.

I will see if I can find that list again as I think it is something that is a valuable nugget to help sift through a lot of the clutter in the process.
