I’m have this too. 53. Not a lawyer but my career requires discussing current events.
I am constantly scribbling words and phrases on sticky notes before I forget them. |
Another lawyer. Yes, this sounds like periM to me. I’m on HRT. I think the demands of the profession made me realize the problem and find a solution early. For me, it was hrt or retire early and give up my family’s income. |
I really enjoy what Katie Couric has to say about this. She describes not being able to tolerate dropping words while anchoring the news. She also later went on to have breast cancer and had to stop HRT so she’s not going to be extreme on either side.

Yes! I started HRT five months ago and have seen improvements in my ability to find words and finish a thought. I highly recommend looking into it. |
Same here!! |
Yes. This is me. I forgot how to spell certain words. |
This happens to me too! Hang in there |
I’m on HRT (started at 45, now 46) and this used to happen before I got on HRT. It has improved a lot. My question is, will it come back if I go off HRT at some point?
Do hormones actually ever stabilize or is it just a continuous decline and the only change we can perceive easily is lack of menstruation? |
I do online word games daily and it’s helped. |
Which ones do you recommend? |
I am 58 and as the covid shutdowns ended, I found I couldn't remember anyone's name and couldn't find words (always nouns). I blamed being isolated, maybe it wasn't after all.
It's gone now. |
Not the PO, but NYT has good ones |
