| DD10 got a new backpack and new sneakers. DS13 didn’t need anything. We’re all set for summer/warm weather clothing and won’t shop for cold weather stuff until sometime in October, probably. |
At a private school so just got enough uniforms to last the week and two pairs of shoes. |

Agree with other posters, I buy kids what they need when they need the item and not necessarily at the beginning of the school year.
My DD is in HS. She got a handful of clothing items over the summer that can be worn through the fall. New backpack. One pair of dressier shoes because needed for activities/events and a new pair of sneakers. I think sneakers are needed for my kids at least once and sometimes multiple times a year due to either growth or wear. My DS needed new dress clothes because he’s switching to private HS. 9th grade. Uniform - kakais, dress shirt, tie, belt. I tend to do laundry frequently so I only got five dress shirts and five pairs of pants and one sport jacket and belt to start. This was all very expensive so I did not buy more items. I am going to teach him how to do laundry this week. My kids all do chores, but I realize that my boys do not know how to do laundry and need to learn. My youngest DS is growing so fast that he requires new shoes every 5-6 months. I buy about 10 pairs socks/underwear for each kid. Only replace if necessary. |
