How much did you buy for back to school shopping?

Did you buy 1-2 pair of shoes? Did you buy enough outfits for a week? Two weeks?
Do you just buy throughout the year when they need an item? How many items did you buy for the beginning of the school year?

We just buy clothes as needed throughout, never all at once. Older teen is not growing much anymore so needs less anyway. Typically buy new sneakers at the end of each summer for size and/or poor condition. Backpacks and lunch boxes last several years.

Nothing so far except the school supply boxes. Middle school boys.

Just one binder so far. No clothes yet.

DD has plenty of clothes, so not buying anymore. She needed a backpack and a new lunch box, so we got those.

A few t-shirts but not really because of school. Two new sneakers - one for a school activity, one for every day. And, a few school supplies. I buy when ever. Boys that don't care.

I buy almost nothing for BTS. New sneakers for each kid. A new lunch bag for my youngest because the strap broke.

I buy clothes when they need them, not at specific times of year, and they will still be wearing summer clothes into October.

Fewer things now that school starts earlier. I buy clothes as they need them. DD wanted a few new shirts so she picked out those. That’s it. DS didn’t buy anything. We stopped buying school supplies unless teachers request something specific. They are in middle and HS.

Not planning to buy anything. My two boys don’t care and we buy through the year for shoes and clothes as needed. We are re-using backpacks and lunch boxes.

Both kids got a new first day outfit just for fun. My new middle schooler got a backpack that's more grown up for middle school. We're replacing sneakers that are worn out. Otherwise they'll keep wearing their summer stuff.

As needed only. This typically means sneakers due to growing feet. Also assess the underwear and sock scenario. But as needed only.

DD who has finished growing. Got a few things on sale in the spring and put away for fall.

DS who is due for a growth spurt. Nothing (he really doesn't care) except maybe I might get a few new tshirts.

As needed. Two needed new backpacks due to tears and wear, one needed a new lunch box for the same reason. All had outgrown their tennis shoes. New clothes shopping consisted of 1 pair of shorts and 2 t-shirts across 3 kids. They’d also gotten new t-shirts/sweatshirts on vacation and an outfit from their grandparents.

Mine really needs new shoes and cleats. I tend to buy two pairs of shoes at a time because he is still growing quite fast, but I like him to be able to alternate. I will buy new hoodie and a few new shirts. He wears the same hoodies pretty much every day.

I haven’t bought any new clothes or shoes for my 14 year old daughters. They already have enough.
