Freddie, Demi and Tom say no. Bobby/Jasmine, Steven/Sabrina and Nicole/Ben all got married. I’m surprised Tom said no.

Tom is not good enough for Maria. He really shut down emotionally when learning about her culture, rather than talking through the aspects of it he disagreed with and trying to find compromises with her. She can do better than him and his sandals.

Freddie did the right thing, 100%. He can do better than Cat. Cat has made her adoption her entire personality - I don't know why her parents didn't reframe her "my mother abandoned me" refrain to "your mother couldn't provide you with the life she thought you deserved so did the most selfless thing she could by placing you for adoption..." but the only smart thing she said was "Freddie loves me, but he's not IN love with me." I agree.

To be honest, I didn't quite understand why Demi said no to Ollie. I really hope that Bobby can be financially successful. Partially for him, partially for him and Jasmine, but also because I'm scared as shit of Jasmine's mother.

IMO Tom and Maria did talk about their cultural differences but she seemed inflexible, for example insisting the man pay for dates. She kept talking about her deceased dad who was a strong provider and a dominant family patriarch, and it seemed she wanted another father figure just like him. While Tom seemed open to some of that, in the end that wasn’t him and his Birkenstocks.

Freddie absolutely made the right choice.

I’m going to guess that Demi didn’t feel 100% secure with Ollie. She seemed insecure about her weight.

Agree that Nicole’s mom is terrifying, and good for Bobby for enduring that with grace. It looks like Nicole is going to side with Bobby about setting boundaries.

I disagree. A goal to be a SAHM is becoming a thing of the past. You can't expect to live in an expensive city or suburb of London and be a SAHM. Unless the man also has trad goals and is making a lot of money, you need two salaries to afford a decent lifestyle.

If you’re talking about Tom and Maria, I think we agree? I also agree that London is a two-earner town (my two-earner cousins live there) unless the guy is on board and also is a big earner. I think Tom is probably comfortable but doubt he could afford a family in London on his own.

But Tom's excuse for being on his phone so much was that he was "a high-powered ad executive". Surely that comes with a high salary.

Jasmines mom is a POS, I really hope she can set some boundaries, otherwise I see her mom tanking their entire relationship.

I’m glad Freddie said no. Cat kept trying to say she’s not materialistic and bougie, but even her friends said she likes to go out and he doesn’t so how’s it gonna work. She was trying to keep a facade to get picked I think.
I’m surprised but glad Demi said no as well. I think she didn’t like how Ollie made her feel - desperate and needy. Once she learned how to love herself she knew she needed more in a partner.
I didn’t think Tom and Maria were a good match as soon as they talked about how snobby he was about her job.

I agree Tom shouldn't have dissed Maria's job. But I think the underlying issue is probably that she'd be a SAHM as soon as they had a kid, given that she probably doesn't earn enough to justify daycare.

I'm too am glad Demi stood up for her own needs. I don't think Ollie is a bad guy at all. I just got the feeling that he's into looks. Demi said herself that she had to up her clothing game for him, because she usually hung around in sweatpants. So I could see him down the road asking her, "do you really want that ice cream?"

I just want it noted for the record that I thought it was shitty that Cat and Freddie were wearing sweats and t-shirts when Cat's parents came over to their apartment. They should have dressed nicer.

So he's a commications/pr consultant. That could go either way money-wise. He could be like any number of entrepreneurs and consultants who are barely making ends meet, but then again his clients have included sports and McDonalds.

Even if he does have a big income, though, that doesn't mean he necessarily needs to be on board with supporting her financially and emotionally. Even if that's what her father did for her. He may want more of an equal partnership.

I think Jasmine's mom lives in the Philippines, so maybe that distance will help the couple with boundaries? What more do you think Demi needs in a partner that Ollie wasn't giving her? I am the poster who didn't understand why she said no to him.

Oh I didnt know she lives in the Philippines, that should help with boundaries for sure.

I can't quite place my finger on the Ollie thing. I don't dislike him, but I don't like him either. It just always felt like she had to make excuses for their interactions/her behaviour while they were out. I think initially she didn't feel good enough for him - and that's where some of that neediness and desperation came from. She was always worried he'd find someone else more suited, and her behaviour changed when they were around other people. Maybe she thought he was settling for her, because she was insecure? Maybe now with her newfound confidence she will be able to find someone she doesnt feel like is settling? I'm not sure. I'm interested to see the reunion and where they ended up.

I can see that for Tom/Maria. I also always think it's a bad sign when the parents don't want to come to the wedding.

For Demi, I replied to another pp, that it always seemed like she thought he was too good for her, so I'm hoping she doesn't think that anymore and has confidence out the wazoo!

Thanks goodness Freddie said no. And what a gentleman, talking to her parents afterwards. Catherine just acted like a brat.

Freddie's job involves handling people at their emotionally most challenging moments. He's got this.

So, sorry not sorry? At least she did sort of apologize for calling Bobby uneducated.

Yeah pretty much. And the irony of someone with multiple failed marriages trying to decide what's best for someone elses romantic life is just too much.

It was a mensch move on his part.

No surprises on outcomes other than I thought Ollie would say no. I hope he and Demi can make it work. I think Freddie and Cat and Tom and Maria don’t and shouldn’t try further.

Disliked Freddie’s earrings letter but agree that could have been forced, or they had him do it before they separated pre wedding.

In general what NICE people all around. Cat was the brattiest but if she’d been on the some of the US seasons would have been the nicest.
