Can you prove this isn't true?

He is a known schizophrenic with a long documented history of violence (through police record). He has stated to police, etc. that he is there stalking an ex-girlfriend who works at the vet. The girl has tried to get a restraining order - denied by Fairfax County. The Sunoco/711 has forced him to leave the piece of land they own but he simply moved to the VDOT owned land and the county, again, doesn’t seem to care. The police, along with a social worker, had been there to speak with him but it’s gotten nowhere so far. Police of course are VERY concerned but have their hands tied by the county. They did tell the guy he needs to remove the word “slut” from his handmade sign he’s hung. Yesterday when I drove by, he was dancing half-naked. He’s been also swinging a large flat board, and has wandered over to the shopping plaza across Georgetown Pike. Great Falls Association is now on board and trying to help.

I think it’s disgraceful that a young girl has to endure this because the county is allowing him to camp and stalk her. He does have a place of residence he can go to. He’s stated that he’s specifically there to stalk her.

The attorney general of VA has been notified and they are very concerned.

Given the liberalism of Fairfax County, you would expect that people in government would be concerned for this young girl. Aren’t liberal for women? Instead, they seem to be on the side of the stalker. Write a letter

What do you think should be done by FC, OP?
Contact the governor, Lieutenant governor and Jason Miyares. They would love to do something about this. Especially since it's an election year they can score political points for making Fairfax county look bad due to soft on crime policies.

Also if VDOT owns it the state can bring criminal charges for trespassing

Already done. Apparently his little tent abode was also 500 ft from the home of the SecDef so he’s been ‘encouraged’ to move along.

and, why are people using the pejorative term “homeless” to describe him?

Great Falls Citizen's association among others. They plan to make a public statement today on their site.

I personally called the local police who confirmed it and told me point blank the county is tying their hands.

Lost credibility with this source! The stalking angle is new. Previous complaints were just that a homeless person was in the area.

You’re totally dismissing op’s concerns because you don’t like the people discussing the issue? So do you not believe the guy exists? Not believe he’s stalking the ex-gf? Not believe that the county officials aren’t helping?

I believe he exists but not the new stalking allegation because I have heard complaints about the homeless man for a few weeks without mentioning of stalking.

Have you seen his posts on NextDoor? He’s posted a picture of her, saying he’s not going to leave until he gets answers from her regarding….some IP he thinks she was involved in stealing? Which has something to do with people in the entertainment industry in the GF community that, according to someone on the Metro, is responsible for his misfortunes, and have sent people to murder him? His words, not anyone else’s.

She needs to take his posts back to court and get that restraining order. His posts combined with the insistence on camping out near her job will get her that restraining order. Bring coworkers to vouch for her.

I really do hope she is able to get the restraining order at this point.

Me too. He’s getting more threatening to the community in videos.

It’s pathetic cowardice that an entire community of super wealthy people is in fear of a single unhoused man. I laugh in contempt at all of you. I hope more unhoused people start camping in Great Falls. You deserve it.

Do you have any concern for this man, who is clearly in need of some kind of treatment? Or for his family, who are no doubt terribly worried about him living on the street during heat waves and tropical storms? If not, and if all your thoughts and feelings are focused on "laughing in contempt" then you are just as morally bankrupt as the community you think you are superior to.

Paranoid schizophrenia is nothing to play with. He believes the cars stopping at the retail/restaurants across the street are stalking him and is talking about killing people.

And some of the people stopping at those shopping areas are people traveling Georgetown Pike to go home to MD. The last person he brought his club over to investigate because he thought they were hacking his phone had Maryland plates. FYI

Deinstitutionalization is the problem. We cannot force schizophrenic people to take their meds. Their families can’t either. It’s a huge problem.

It's only a problem that you can't accept the differently abled.

This. 100%.

The issue is with those who cannot accept them. Not them themselves.
