I say breeder because of people like you. I find it amazing how judgement someone like you is, when you wouldn't foster or adopt kids and want to pretend you are better than others. |
Mills are disgusting and they should squirm. Nothing wrong with good breeders. I'm not triggered by "rescue" in the least! I just say my own facts which are that I've been fostering for 15 years but I get all my own dogs from breeders. |
| Because people ask where I got him (he looks like a purebred chocolate lab), and I say I got him from a rescue that picked him up from a shelter down south. |
Nobody cares. I breed horses and it doesn’t make me squirm when someone has a “rescue” horse. I hope they enjoy losing competitions, because my purpose-bred horses have generations of top sport lines. Breeding matters. |
1. Yes, because it is wrong on so many levels to support breeders. 2. Yay to those who rescue. Keep telling people. |
Come on. |
If you bought your dog from a specific breeder would you stop telling people that you bought the dog from that breeder even if it was years ago? Of course not! So then why can't people refer to their dogs as rescue dogs ( and state the name of the rescue) Btw, all people can adopt dogs, not just progressives. I know some very liberal people who bought their dogs from breeders! I do not judge them just because I can't do it. If I want a specific breed I am going to go to the rescue for that type of dog. |
Not everyone wants to compete, pp |
People ask. So you shouldn't say the truth? |
|
The topic is about dogs, pp. People are walking their dogs in DC not their 'purebred' horses! |
I think this is your interpretation. Rescue for dogs or adoption of kids doesn't mean 'second best' to me! |
dp I don't squirm if people say breeder. I do get upset with Amish farms and backyard breeders whom we know are not caring for the animals and are not breeding them for the best traits. But a good breeder who cares for the mamas and doesn't overbreed is totally fine! |
Lol, hardly. I live in Brooklyn, where 9/10 dogs are rescues, it seems. We get no kudos because we've all done the same thing! |
Yes, I do! If people ask about them. I adopted two from the shelter and two from the street in my neighborhood |
