Again, like others here, you seem to be missing the point. I am not "worked up" about it. I am merely pointing out that it is embarrassing as a form of messaging, and that it is part of why increasing numbers of male votes are moving away from the Democratic Party. When they hear something like that, their eyes roll, and they ignore it and you.

Really? Is that why the White Dudes for Harris call raised so much money (over $4 million)? It's being ignored so hard that twitter suspended their account?

Why did they suspend the account?

Thank you for sharing your opinion.
A majority of us here obviously disagree, not sure why you feel the need to keep digging in?

omg.. are you seriously saying that using the word "dude" is what is causing white males to jump to the MAGA party. Seriously, dude.

Even women can be "dudes."

Everyone is invited to the dude party!

No, I am not saying that. I am saying that messaging like that screams "try hard" and reminds people why they aren't interested.

MAGA cult leader is referencing Hannibal Lector in his speeches, and yet, OP thinks liberals using "white dudes' is embarrassing and weird? Okay, then.

would it be better if we referenced Hannibal Lector?

right? Of all things to complain about the liberal party. I mean, at least we don't call childless women "crazy cat ladies".

It's not "messaging". It's literally a zoom call. Which apparently enough male voters tuned into that they raised a bunch of money. And was threatening enough that Elon had to kick them off X.

No explanation was given (other than it's Elon Musk and he's a petty troll). But it has be reinstated so that's nice.

Who knows? Probably because the Chief Dude's unhappy about the fact that other people disagree with him.

Anonymous wrote:This is obviously prompted by the White Dudes for Kamala Harris group, but it is not limited to that. Seems like Democrats and liberals like to use the term "dude." Personally, as a male, I find it pretty cringey. Reeks of people who are trying to seem cool and relatable but have no real connection to the average guy. It is approaching Latinx status. I wish they would stop.

It was the big Lebowski. Jeff Bridges was The Dude. Articles were written about it. Posters have been made about it. Memes are made about it. And btw it is used not only wrt white men, or even men. In this case, I assume Jeff Bridges had something to do with the name.
