Reston has been a census designated place [CDP] for decades. It basically is a large HOA but Fairfax County and Mclean have the inequitable special tax district payable to the county. Reston Assoc /HOA residences were taxed to pay for county floated construction bonds for Hunters Woods coomunity center- paid off in 1999. New western FX census designated placs split off from general tracts include south of Great Falls and north of Town of Herndon or Reston CDP are Dranesville and Great Falls Crossing. Wolf Trap also got a name and Hutchison-south of Herndon became a CDP. |
| Has there ever been consideration to making Tysons its own city? |
Tysons was a gas station at the level intersection of 7 and 123 when VA enacted the state-wide freeze on towns and cities. So, no never could have been even considered. |
Once Comstock developers push through the casino there with the help of local legislators, I’ll bet they make a special exemption to make it a town (or city) if it can be taxed more heavily. |
| What Northern Virginia really needs are more counties as opposed to towns. Fairfax could be easily split up into three more counties; Loudon could be split down the middle |
| Reston's it's own State of Mind. Isn't that enough? |
| Cities in Virginia are not within counties. They are completely separate entities. |
| Yes, Reston is a town so is Herndon and Ashburn |
you don't know what you are talking about |
Work for the state of Virginia, I know more about the state than you do |
McLean is not a town. That PP is totally clueless. |
It literally is a town! There is a mayor and a town council. Stop spreading misinformation this is getting annoying |
Virginia is a commonwealth |
This is a very bored troll. |
