My 12yo DD enjoyed Twelve and Cheaper By The Dozen recently. Twelve is new, other one is an oldie.

Not a comedy but what about the National Treasure movies? Fun and interesting.

+1 to whomever suggested
The North Avenue Irregulars

I watched this movie on repeat when I was a kid!
(Also—fun fact: the main character (pastor) is played by Edward Hermann who is the father in Gilmore Girls.
And his daughter in the movie (Carmel) is played by a young Melora Hardin (aka Jan from The Office).
Melora and Ed appear together again in one episode of Gilmore Girls where she plays a single therapist who comes to dinner as an invited guest of Emily’s who intends to fix her up with Christopher. And Lorelai ends up having a therapy session with her in her car in her parents driveway.)

Hidden Figures
A League of Their Own

Not "girly" but both very powerful for girls.

Less of a female-lead focus:
Apollo 13 - gripping for anyone that age!

Night at the museum
Dr. Doolittle
Elf

Inside Out 2 is excellent. We took two 12 year olds and they loved it.
