s/o A non-girly movie to watch with my 12 year old

Doctor Who isn't particularly funny but it might be worth a try. Watch Episode 1 of Season 5 to see if it might be of interest. The episode is titled The Eleventh Hour.

The Good Place
Nailed It
Mystery Science Theater 3000

Have you tried reality shows like Survivor or Amazing Race?

Thanks, we've tried most of these, but I'll look into Zombieland and Hot Rod. She liked Pitch Perfect okay, but did not like School of rock at all. Derek Zoolander she found really dumb. I get it, she's hard to please. But there's also a million movies that I've never heard of, so I know there are more out there.

What about stranger things?

Definitely School of Rock if she hasn't seen that one yet
The Mitchells vs the Machines
Legally Blonde
The Peanut Butter Falcon
National Treasure
Bill and Ted's Excellent Adventure
Back to the Future
Election
Cool Runnings
Home Team

Would something like Castaway or Love and Monsters be too violent/scary?

Does she like animals? Teen DD at that age loved TV shows such as Secrets of the Zoo and the Georgia Aquarium. Is Nimona a bridge too far? DD loves it. We rewatch old favorites like The Great Dictator (very funny).

What about sports movies? Cool Runnings, Mighty Ducks, Million Dollar Arm, Happy Gilmore, etc.

Also School of Rock, the Martian (one gory scene in the first couple minutes and then it's fine...it has funny parts but not really a comedy), Coming to America, Monty Python and the Holy Grail, Legally Blonde (yes there's some romance but a lot more than that happens), Bruce Almighty (same--some romance but that's not really the main plot).

Please note that whether something is appropriate or objectionable is highly subjective. If you have any concerns, I highly recommend you consult the IMDB Parent’s Guide and/or Common Sense Media.

The old Disney live actions might be good:
The Shaggy DA
Candleshoe
That Darn Cat
Escape to Witch Mountain
The North Avenue Irregulars
Honey I Shrunk the Kids
etc.
Here’s a list that seems fairly comprehensive up to 2021:
https://www.imdb.com/list/ls077114097/

Also:
Nim’s Island
Short Circuit
ET
Three Men and a Baby
Liar, Liar
The Mask
A League of their Own
Kindergarten Cop
Tootsie
Mr. Mom
Airplane!
Wargames
Private Benjamin
Miss Congeniality
Real Genius
Galaxy Quest
Auntie Mame

These movies have been remade, and I haven’t seen the updated versions. The originals were great, but she might like the newer ones better, for all I know:
Cheaper by the Dozen (sad ending)
Yours, Mine, and Ours
The Out-of-Towners

Mel Brooks
Monty Python
Abbott and Costello
Laurel and Hardy
Three Stooges

TV:
Big Bang Theory
Carol Burnett Show
MASH
Eureka
